I've always had two gripes about basketball.

The idea that you can commit intentional faouls at the end of the game to force free throws in hopes of coming back. I don't think a team should be able to break teh rules as a means to come back, even if it is costing them fouls.

The other, the idea that you can just outright throw the baskateball at another player, or his head, in hopes that it goes out of bounds off of him.

What other sport can you intentionally toss the ball or equipment at another player? Goalie don't count.

Here's what I mean...this is about unsportsmanlike as it gets, yet they play on. They even gie the Lakers the ball...

Reminds me of 7th grade CYO basketball.
Opponent tried to save it under his basket and got me good in the nuts.
I caught the ball and pivoted to get the outlet pass off and went down after taking a few steps up the court.

I want to correct myself, I think it is against the rules to haul off and throw the ball at another player, but the refs have to make that call.

They never do.

Of course LeBronda will get away with it, but it makes me think that other players watching will start trying nail other players out of frustration. This will eventually lead to a fight.

That is exactly what I was saying ealrier when having this cconversation. If he tossed it at LeBron like that, what would have been called?

They almost never call a foul there, being by the sidelines seems to give every player the benefit of the doubt.

But I swear Lebronda is going to open up the flood gates here. I predict a fight on the court in the future if they don't reign this in.

I'm all about the markets, always have been, and will be throughout the tournament. Players and even coaches pass through the system, the system remains unchanged.

So we have to take note when I actually start talking about players.

Can we talk about the SBR issues for a minute? Hasn't this been going on since November? I've not seen anything, at all, about updates to the site, when shit might get fixed, etc. I'm not in a hurry for things to be fixed, I've stuck around this long I'm probably here for the long haul, but I've not seen an updated thread or ANY info from SBR on what's actually happening now. First it would be fixed by xmas, then after the first of the year (which the entire site was dead for like 5 days), and really nothing since. The mods keep saying it's new owners, but how often do you really see new owners buy an online property and legit say NOTHING. Like NOTHING at all to the community it bought?

I'm not complaining here, as much as that looks like it, but at this point the people who stuck around are probably owed some sort of explanation of what's going on....
