NY now has 25,600 cases, jumped a bit since you last looked.
5,000 New Yorker's a day are being added to the list. 100K isn't far off.

      All of them.
I don't think closing them is slowing the virus dramatically enough to warrant the negative impacts it will have on our economy.
      I understand if you disagree.

I agree. But closing so many businesses all at once shouldn't have happened.

Flu does not leave people with compromised lung capacity after it's long gone like this can.

COVID-19 by all accounts is an absolute B*TCH

I hope I get it, before a vaccination. I work almost 14 hours a day everyday in a high stress job and have high blood pressure and smoke, I guarantee it won't even touch me. I want it, I want to tell people it is bullshit. I don't fukin care, give it to me, I will show people this shit is pussy ass shit.

I don't know one person, that is a celeb, that it did shit too. Other than he couldn't smell or taste for a few days, which actually happens in many other viruses, they don't tell you that though. It is the buggyman virus now.

Well that is true. I won't disagree with that. But I think it's also that it spreads faster in more dense places, but may just spread later and slower in less dense places. But it will still likely spread, albeit on a different curve.

But there is validity to that.

I mean, if you live in the country on a farm you're just not coming into contact with people and surfaces the way a worker in NY riding the subway would. I get that. Essentially, less dense places have built-in social distancing.

entire countries shut down. something like a dozen US states shut down.

never seen this before in my nearly 45 yrs of life.

I'm not sure if everyone understands the meaning of "exponential."
An exponential graph is like a hockey stick. It looks like this:

You're partially right but the part you're not considering is that viruses that are left untreated often chill and mutate and get stronger season after season if they're not taken care of. They're unpredictable. What starts out as a simple virus now could turn into something deadly 10 years later if we were living in an earlier era without tech. So you should feel lucky to have medical professionals working on a vaccine or cure right now.

It's just increasing rapidly, but it's not exponential.
