Report: Illini’s Scheelhaase to dress, likely won’t play vs. Sun Devils

APAfter 27 consecutive starts, it appears Nathan Scheelhaase‘s streak will come to an end.
Citing a source close to the team, the Springfield Journal-Register is reporting that the Illinois quarterback will dress but is not expected to play in tonight’s game with Arizona State. The report also states that Scheelhaase will dress, which certainly opens up the possibility for the junior to take the field if the need arises.
Scheelhaase suffered an ankle injury during the season-opening win over Western Michigan, and has been questionable in the week leading up to the road game with the Sun devils.
Either Reilly O’Toole, who played in relief of the injured starter, and Miles Osei will get the start, although head coach Tim Beckman is expected to use both quarterbacks during the game.
