    Your not doing anything special.
Aside from staring at your computer for 16 hours a day.

I have a question for you mathy: if the Dodgers opened at +100 at Pinny, you took them at +108 and they closed at +102, are you truly beating the closer if the line finishes above where it opens?

                      I'll hang up and listen.

If you're beating the no-vig closing line you can be pretty happy with yourself. The closing line should reflect all the available information and is efficient. If you beat it you will win. That being said you try to also get the best number possible in addition to BTCL.

So if Dodgers had opened -110/100 and then went to -140/120 and closed -109/103 and I got +108, I BTCL but probably should've done better. That said I would still be pleased enough.

that is not very novel. it is like the most popular comedy on tv.

That's kind of what I figured. Thanks.

I've noticed a lot of MLB lines lately taking an early nosedive at Pinny, only to bounce before first pitch and the late steam has been winning more than losing vs. the early money. For instance (and this is a less significant example), the Brewers opened at -106 and the line moved in their favor early. Then when the line bottomed out at -107 (never below the opening number), it bounced back a little late in Milwaukee's favor again. So technically, you could say early and late money was on the Brewers, and the Dodgers never reached - territory.
