#38The domain has plethora of links to it from other websites and when visited it redirected the visitor to the correct brand. CalvinAyre.com can pass it off as strange no big deal but I'm sure this seizure stung plenty. As far as why seize it, actually was used to an extent, just in recent months (not years) as a redirect to cover there ass should it eventually get seized.Comment -

#43it was being used. to re-direct player to BOVADA.. so that way all people in usa searching to bet sports would still hit google number one BODOG and then be redirected.. now they lost 1000s of new sign ups per month im sure.Originally posted by doiupcSo if that domain wasn't even being used anymore, then what was the point of seizing it?

I don't use Bodog and never have, but I saw that posted on another forum and the blog is dated today, which makes it look like it was seized recently. If it was months back I'll take your word for it.Comment -

I kind of like the fact that as a result of taking so much risk, the reward is completely free of any fees in excess of the withdrawal fees.
To think that I would be taxed at the ordinary tax rate for risking my money is insane.
There should be a new tax law on gambling related income. Gains should be taxed at no more than 10%.
As of right now, if we lose, it's "tough luck". But should we win, everyone has their hands out. And to make matters worse, everything you do through an internet account is recorded, even the smallest of winnings.
You can walk into a casino, win a few thousand and no one even has to know about it.Comment -

#51They already planned for this to happen, so they were aware of everything. Thats why they have no money from it. All they have is an old domain name that is not even in use and of course a few indictments which these people dont even live in the U.S.
Wake up guys our government is screwing this country up in every way, how much needs to happen in all aspects before people do something?Comment -

#53We are aware of both the seizure of the domain Bodog.com on Monday and the indictment against Calvin Ayre released this morning. Please be assured that neither of these have in any way affected the operations of Bovada and it’s very much business as usual. The account details and funds of our players remain totally secure. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us at 1-888-263-0000 or service@bovada.lv.Comment -

#69The republicans rammed the UIGEA thru attachment to the safe port act. Instead of taxing it, the govt is of the opinion just to seize accts when they feel like it.
You can blame the US govt but when you cant elect enough people (or even have enough people to run) to get online poker taxed its sad. So much tax money that could be made but when stand on whatever right wing morals are of the moment.Comment -
