I do agree taking a mediocre playoff team at home with nine points is a good idea. If the steelers had Mendenhall, I might have to think more about it. Tebow is bad, but not bad enough to lose by 10 or more to a banged up team.

that's your opinion, and far from what i just described in my example from speaking with actual novices who bet.

I don't care about public bet %'s....my plays are probably spread 50/50 from public to non-public plays.

Like we were saying the other night - maybe 70% of the public shows as being on the under, but perhaps some large money was placed on the Over. Thus the books may want to see the under come in, and will be happy to hand out all those $100 winning tickets.

Yes, because they would be part of the 30% on the OVER. Which in your eyes is viewed as the more "sharp" bet.

ya at +9 it's tough to pass on, I think i would parlay this with something else, (say over in the lions saints) and put some decent money on it, then hedge with steelers at -9 and the under and/or just the under for the hedge. So a few plays:
My initial instinct says my plays would be 5+ units for the Over in the SAINTS-LIONS game AND Denver Broncos @ +9 points (parlay)
2 units on steelers ML
3 units on the UNDER in the denver-steelers game
1 unit on the over in the steelers game parlay with steelers ML (because if the steelers win I say it goes over)
1 unit on denver ML
Anything else - well it was just a bad day.
