Not sure why people put so much stock in getting the playoff bye. As a Pats fan I've seen firsthand how badly that extra week can throw off a teams rhythm and momentum. When its one and done, there is nothing more important than those 2 things.

Obviously GB has tremendous talent and the QB who is easily best in the league right now, but this team is probably not even as good as the 07 Pats, and we all know how that turned out. Having that extra week will hurt more than help.

do you guys remember the saints defense the year they won? I don't have the stats but I think the Saints used to give up a lot of yardage, but they were also at the top in takeaways.

Both of these defenses are the same. Very opportunistic.

They can be beaten if they get into a bad weather game at Lambeau and cannot consistently complete the timely and accurate throws that they are used to. Any balanced team with a decent running attack and good defense could beat them (ATL, NY or SF).

The 2007 Pats won the AFC...thats all we're talking about here for the Packers. The extra week should help to get Jennings back in the lineup....so no having your leading receiver All-pro Greg Jennings back is not a bad thing.

if the saints get the second seed I feel confident that they will beat the lions or cowboys at home so it would be a Saints at Green Bay NFC Championship

now at green bay in January would be a really tough game for the saints to win but I would not call it free money... remember they were a yard or so away from having the opportunity to tie the game on a 2 point conversion at gb earlier this ... of course it will be alot colder this time ...

New Orleans/Detroit = Dome teams in January...seen that one already with my Colts & it doesn't work. If by some miracle its 40 degrees at gametime then maybe NO pulls out a shootout. Detroit has no shot

Woodson and Polamalu have to be one of the most overrated DB's of all time.

Thought someone had a good piece on woodson how badly he plays, can't cover anything, just interferes every play.

Same as Polamalu, overplays and gets burned all the time, then people praise him because he takes twenty chances and gets one int out of it.

If you watch the NFL this year you will realize nobody has a good defense any more. The Packers defense is able to force tons of turnovers. The offense is unstoppable.

I agree that defense is down this year, the greenbay defense takes it to a new level though. Yes right now they are getting a lot of turn-overs but at some point that is going to come down. I have watched evevery packer game this year (live in wisconsin) and a lot of their turn-overs have come by dropped passes by the WR's. A lot of them have come by just dumb mistakes by the QB. To me its a bad stat to look at , because its not as if the greenbay defense is some great turn-over force.

If Chicago gets healthy, and some how makes the playoffs, i can see them knocking off Greenbay. Their defense over-all is probably the best in the nfc, the first few weeks messed up thier over-all stats. And as i said before, greenbay in january, its going to snow. That is the worst thing possible for this packer team, snow in a game. They are not a cold weather team, they are a dome team.

Yes rodgers has been great, this year. But to say its free money is not true, because of how bad the packers defense

And just looking at history, a lot of the number 1 seeds in the NFC have not faired so well. If i had to pick a team to knock off packers, it would be the giants in all likley hood, because bears are too banged up on offense to make the playoffs. eli manning is having a GREAT year, and is clutch as they come. The giants defense is the perfect style to get to rodgers, their front four can get to rodgers without blitzing.

Also they have the the pounding run game too, so if it is snowing they are ready to go.

Also, i think the falcons could pose a huge thread. Because of Turner, they pound it all game. If its snowing packers are done. Seriously ryan grant, and sparks? Packers might have the two worst running backs in the league.

After ATL got blown out, this would be the perfect opptunity to come to green-bay and show whos boss.

If field conditions are good, Saints offense can keep up with the packers. Brees is having a hell of a year, almost as good as the Packers. That would be a hell of the nfc championship game. But I feel that NYG and ATL have a huge advance because they can pound the ball.
