new england has no pass defense and rex likes to air it out.. and washingtons defense is decent.


this one will be closer than people expect. im not gonna lie i have a very funny feeling everyone and their momma and everyone and their momma's teasers are gonna get buried by a washington SU win.

Not sure about a SU win and anyone who teases NE on a -9 line might need a little tap in the ear but I am starting to think the juicy 9 might still be a good play based on current information.

To me the keys are Chung, Arrington, Vollmer and Connolly. If those guys are not scratched and are not limited I think the 7.5 is a tight number. I might not get 9 by the time I know. If not I will probably leave this one up.

We will see Duncky. I did see a few 7s early but not on the open and everyone was on them. There was a ton of knee jerk reaction to the announced suspensions by the public I am hearing. I think the smart guys saw the opportunity to get both sides on this one and helped shove it up a bit beyond its value.

I suspect we will see a close close to the open though. It is not public money driving the number back that way we can be sure of that.

Those good numbers don't last long. Nothing wrong with the insurance, I would make that move if I saw value in the number.

Wash has lost their last 4 home games giving up an average of 25 points to some mediocre offenses...They havent put up more then 24 since week 1... If they cant put put up more then 24, yet are giving up 25 points to bad offenses, how are they gonna keep up with NE, even if they do score their season high since week 1 of 24 points? Esp without their top offensive weapon? just dont see it... I know NE's d is weak, but more of a bend dont break type weak.. no team has put more then 24 up on them since week 3... from the numbers point of view, things just dont stack up well here for Wash, esp since they have nothing to play for

The fact that the Colts came through in the 4th quarter to make it a game is favorable for the Pats defense this week. Bellicheck probably got on their defense, and since unstoppable Brady has never won at Washington, I think this is an easy cover for New England, he will go off. Close calls usually facilitate easy covers for the following weekend with Bellichek on board. This is playoff time practice for New England.

Plus, Washington has way too many players out. Got it at -9 and content.

Billy, Ive got to say I agree with you on this one. There is no reason to love the Pats here. Yes, with Brady they always have a chance to win and cover single digit spreads regardless of the opponent. Smart money is on skins, the spread says it all. If oddsmakers wanted action on the skins theyd have the line a 10.5 or better. Despite that, theres no reason do to overthink this. Here is why NE is a no play and the Skins +7.5 or better looks juicy:

-Skins lose Fred Davis, but they gain Moss. He should be ready to make an impact in his 3rd week back and is a MUCH better offensive weapon than Davis.
-Helu has given the skins a ground game they were lacking and they will be able to control the clock a bit as a result. Should help keep this game from getting out of hand.
-Pats D is the worst in the league and Grossman, as gross as he is, will rack up some yards and put points on the board.
-Skins D is very solid and will stop the run and put pressure on Brady. He'll have success as usual, but he wont top 30 points on the road vs this D.

Skins could win this game straight up, in fact i think there is at least a 30% chance they do so. I'd give them 60% chance of covering this spread. Far from a lock for the Pats, and a decent lean in the Skins direction.

Regular or not. You cant argue with that. Best of luck with whatever you decide but I hope its a no play for you.
