some seriously clueless weekend warriors in this thread... this field is better than quite a few that are in the regular season...its out of season boyz, so stop arguing about it...regardless, i didnt say anything about the guy winning or anything about him period...i dont think he should be favored either, but guys, who are completely clueless , love to give tiger shit because he isnt what he used to be...love him or hate him, you will never see anyone more dominant in golf than he has been...what the guy has done for the tour is amazing, you cant deny that

Golf will be just fine if Tiger were to never play again. Since the news about tiger broke, the PGA has been changing its strategy and focusing more on the FedEx Cup and the importance of the Nationwide tour. Names such as Bubba, Fowler, Scott, and Rory are now household names. Kids are wearing Orange Puma hats now instead of TW hats. The PGA has moved on, if Tiger comes back it will only get better. The PGA Tour just signed its largest TV deal in history and was able to secure sponsors once again for every event on tour next year. The PGA Tour gives more to charity every year then the NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA combined! Trust me the PGA Tour is here to stay...O and there are no lockouts, act up on the tour and you'll just get kicked out

i dont think people are serious when they say golf is dead without him...just that ratings are down...and if they do mean it, they arent to be taken seriously...just fukking nitwits

im convinced that part of the reason guys love to hate on tiger is because of the media outlets... espn/golf channel etc. cant get enough of talking about his bullshit ... its very similar to how a lot of people fukking hate brett favre...anytime something comes up, espn wears the story out for days and weeks...its obnoxious.

i agree, and to say purses in golf would be anywhere close to where they are now if tiger never existed is ridiculous. i've been to baseball, basketball, football, hell even nascar events in the 80s and 90s. they were well-attended then AND now. golf events pre-tiger were completely dead, i remember only a handful of people even watching guys like greg norman.

Ranked #1 on the money list 4 of the previous 5 years before 2010 season (#2 in 2008) but now ranked #132 on the money list..not even high enough to keep his tour card under normal circumstances

Seve was the biggest collapse in golf history. Guy went from winning five majors to literally couldn't get off the tee and a successful round was breaking 80 on a lot of days. Duval was bigger too. At least Tiger still has a few top 10's in majors the last couple years. If he doesn't win soon the pressure will just keep mounting though.
