#123Not rocket science. Make bet, take screenshot. I´m quite confident that once YOu get the page showing bet confirmed it is ok. Still making me mad and little cautious that they have so long downtime. By the way what is DOS attack?Comment -

#124Time to drop them..on such day to be down ,ridiculous..probably were sacred to get hit bad today.
There is no other reasonable explanation to such a long downtime when their hosting service provider is fine.Comment -

#132If the IP is working they are having issues with there DNS servers or their service provider is having issues with DNS. Doesnt mean it is a scam. I made a 1st inning bet using the IP on Texas and won and was promptly paid.Comment -

#134Dear Sir,
We regret you are among the clients currently unable to reach our site.
Pinnacle Sports is experiencing a DOS attack which, unfortunately, are becoming more prevalent events in all technology based industries.
Our IT Department is working diligently to resolve the issue and restore access to the site.
Unfortunately, we do not have an estimate time when the site may be reachable.
Please attempt to access the site and your account later.
We sincerely apologize for the interruption on our service.
Kind regards,
Customer Service Department
Pinnacle Sports
Above a response i got within 5 minutes of sending my query
Well, ddos attacks are normally attempts to blackmail but i doubt this is the case,if such was the case there are plenty of hosting services providing bullet proof protection and no downtime for such events.
I think i will withdraw my balance if and when ever they are back, seems that the glory days of that book over,it is funny to see site down yet i got response from support with in 5 minutes of my query as if business is normal Would make you think they still the best what is it good if you can't place any bets and have to worry now on top how stable is their financial situation if they can't even afford ddos attack protection from their provider which shouldn't be expensive with the financial volumes going on that site.

#136A DOS attack?
wow
the question is why? and who?
However i use usually the ip 216.152.164.180 and don't work (but this is the default IP).
I don't know the 216.152.164.80 ip, but probally it isn't a scam, because I have tryed a wrong password and i receive an login error (a scam site don't know if the password is right or wrong),
but the site is slow and not usable...
sigh....Comment -

#138This isn't the first DOS attack at Pinnacle by the way. Do a Google arch for "is pinnacle down" and you will come across other posts from the past for the same issueComment -

#139I have only been using pinnacle since the New Year. Overall great book in regards to odds, payouts and customer service. However, the down time on their website is their one and only negative and when it is as bad as it is today, I don't think they can be rated as an A+
I will continue to use them if this is a one time thing, but great odds, payouts and customer service wont win out if you have trouble placing a wager on a regular basis. Hopefully they can get the matter resolved because overall it is a good book.Comment -

#140Historically it has been gangs of criminals, based in Eastern Europe, who are seeking to extort the online sports books. Usually they pull this at times of the year when the books would be booking major action. For example, the day of the Super Bowl. In the past, the books usually paid them in order to stop their attacks. Eventually the technology of foiling denial of service attacks improved to the point where it was no longer necessary to pay the extortion. What is probably happening is that some criminals have figured out a new way to conduct DOS attacks. A new way which renders the exising counter measures less effective...
Sportsbook.com was down for a long time yesterday, which was not usual for them. They either agreed to pay up or finally figured out how to foil the attacks. Now it seems it is Pinnacle's turn, and they appear to be faring rather badly. This is a long time for the site to be down. I hope they don't pay up though. It only encourages this kind of crime to be repeated again and again.Comment
