It's not really just chasing. More like broke as a joke, bills piling up, can't pay the mortgage, wife going crazy on you, fired from your job, no money in the bank, and you're putting half your bankroll on Asian Soccer at 3:00AM, hoping to at least get even on the day.

Yeah man, luckily nothing like that has happened to me either. I've seen it first with some of the older guys I know, shit's definitely fucked up. It just becomes a problem for some people. Life is meant to be lived in moderation. Booze, drugs, gambling, girls, food, basically anything that's enjoyable in life, you shouldn't do too much of because it can kill ya or ruin you. Sad but true.

Exactly, we all chase a lil when we're down but that has nothing to do with being barrelled in, that's simply normal ups and downs of gambling. Barrelled in means you are absolutely flat broke, you were betting dimes now your sweatin 8 team parlays for 10 bucks tryin to build a roll, wife left your worthless degenerate ass, RentACenters packin up your shit, you can't afford the money for gas to go to GA b/c theres an 8 team MLB parlay you just posted as a lock in SBR forum and you need to put some money on it, after going 7-1 on the 8 teamer b/c the pitcher homered in the bottom of the 9th you curl up on the concrete floor of a damp basement and cry yourself to sleep, in the morning an old man walks into the basement sayin rents due with his pants around his ankles , now that's BARRELLED IN. See also JJGold, 2Pac, WE EAT FISH, Bowlingreensux, etc. etc. etc.

I thought it was a reference to the old old days, like the great depression. When people were so poor they sometimes had to wear a barrel because they didn't have clothing. You know, they'd make some suspenders with rope or whatever and wear an old barrel as clothing.
I think a couple months ago, JJGOLD had a rough weekend betting horses and was wearing the barrel and suspenders and whining to us how he was "BARRELLED IN". Eventually he got a small bankroll back together after going back to gay prostitution for a little while. Let that be a lesson to the younger guys on here and don't get barrelled in.

nah, I don't think that's quite it.
He'd have been barrelled in if he stuck around, but got onto a payment plan with the bookie or something while getting some kind of terrible extra job(s) in order to make payments to the bookie. I could be wrong.
What you're talking about is being on the lam

Well I invented the term on sports forums so you get the correct definition from me.
Around where I live we use the term a lot and refer to the term for gamblers that are in financial holes of course because of gambling. It usually means bank loans, loan sharks and or any other type of heavy debt.

B/c they are normally cheapskates who want to have their mom wait on em and pay no bills for the rest of their life. It's not hard to save money with no bills, just put the money you don't wipe your ass with in a jar.
