Best place to get a loan?
I have 8 credit cards whose balance is 13k, I need a personal loan to pay these off. I don't make alot of money and don't own a house. I have never been late on any of these credit cards. I have applied for loans but get denied. Where can I get an unsecured loan for 13k?

Tried everywhere including Prosper. I should call the few credit cards that raised my APR and threaten them I will not pay unless they give me a card so I can transfer all these balances to a card with a 0% balance transfer apr.

13k is high for an unsecured personal loan. Would be hard to get that unless the interest rate was pretty high - would probably be just as high as the credit cards. I'd just sit tight and keep paying off the cards. Another issue is that it's bad having all of the debt under one loan sometimes because then you are that lender's mercy - if they feel like raising the interest rate for some reason or whatever you are stuck.

Keeping it spread out has its advantages. If you end up being late with one out of 5 different payments, it's not the end of the world. But taking out a totally different loan for 13k increases the amount of unsecured revolving credit, lowers the credit score, makes the interest rates higher across the board, etc. So just sit tight and deal with the different payments. I know it's psychologically painful to get 5 different credit card bills a month but I've been there and got through it. Just send in like 10% more than the minimum on each and your rates won't go up.

Loan sharks are an option if you need "quick" money

Home equity if you own property

                  Car loans

Propser.com rates are way too high

Reload pretty much summed it up, personal unsecured loans are not known for low rates. If you have a 401, IRA, CDs,property, etc. or anything such as that you stand a better chance by using one of those as collateral.

Pride goes before the fall as they always say!

OK,I'm not trying to be humorous, snide or snotty and that seems to be the case in most of my posts where it seems like I come across that way with sarcasm mixed in.

There is no free market,no one is accountable for anything these days,no one knows for the most part how wealth is created out of thin air, people default, get foreclosed on,go bankrupt, file for trumped up SSI government disability, get government grants and loans they don't pay back.etc.Banks get bailed out after gambling and losing and the federal reserve creates money out of thin air.

Then the honest hard working chumps in the private sector toil and slave away paying their bills on time, not speculating-gambling on pie in the sky real estate the government encouraged a person to buy etc.and you end up paying taxes to support all the deadbeats who cut and run from their debt, obligations and responsibilities.

The same goes for banking and credit where the poor schmuck that pays high interest on time is paying alot in interest for the people who welsh on their loans and credit.

Take George Steinbrenner for instance. He makes a ton of money building ships for the government where he rips the tax payer off.He wants a hobbie and job for his kids so he buys a baseball team.He then asks the state and federal government to give him welfare to tear down a national landmark ''Yankee Stadium''to build a new stadium. He's paying guys like Clemmons 25 million bucks to pitch in a few games after 40 % of the season was gone already.Maybe if he ran his business-hobbie of owning a baseball team like a business was meant to be not squandering money,he could afford building his own stadium without receiving welfare.

So my advice to you is to take a lesson from all the people and outfits I mentioned above.Be like lightning and take the path of least resistance.Go bankrupt or fall down and slip in a major retailer that has deep pockets. It's a one time thing where you couldn't get away with it more than once and you would get an out of court settlement to pay off your credit card debt.Of course it would be just a mysterious phantom back injury you really don't have. The irony would be that you went in to the quack chiropractor to get work on your fake injury to prove to the retailer that you are injured and the chiropractor would screw your back up for life.hehe!

I have never done this stuff but if you have nothing to lose like some street people, why not fake a dive and injury? It's especially easy if you live in a big city instead of a small town where no one knows your business. If you did it in a small town, people would gosip that you are an A-hole faker.hehe!

Here is another case in point,I'm reading my local paper and they did a feel good story on a young gal getting a house from habitat for humanity. It sounds like she's a single mom with 3 or 4 kids probably from a mix of guys fathering the kids and splitting the scene? She works ''leeches''at a makework government job in early childhood development. She couldn't manage her own life of raising a proper family but she's getting paid by the tax payer to raise your kids and tell you what you are doing wrong as a parent. So she's getting a brand new spanking house where total monthly payments with no interest will be a little over $300 a month. No one single or married without kids working in the private sector who pays taxes gets a sweetheart deal like this. They all have huge mortgages and don't have time to have kids because they are too busy working 3 or 4 jobs. The woman getting help from Jimmy Carter's socialist Habitat for Humanity is getting rewarded for bad behavior. It's like the lion tamer giving the lion a treat each time the lion bites him.

Best place to get a loan is jjgold's aunt. Visit her on Superbowl day after you place a bet on Patriots for $25,000 and you get easy money. Make sure you visit her with a cheap ass polyester suit that smells like bacon from the local diner where you were greeded as a king for your historic bet before you came back from the back alley of a grocery store where you stole frozen turkeys from the dumpsters.

if you're over your head most of these places will negotiate with you if don't think you're going to keep paying them... just don't pay for the service because that is typically just a big a scam as credit cards...

Best solution might be to get a part time job to pay off a few of them till you can make more then the min payment... you'll never get them paid off paying the min...

No offense, but you can get unsecured lines of credit for very large amounts of money. I buy and sell classic cars and real estate, so I have a line of credit that is very large from my local bank. I'm 26, with a good credit score, and nothing negative against my payment history. I only use the line to get something fast, and pay it back as soon as I sell the car or get the mortgage.(sometimes I use it for down payments if I know I won't have the property but a few months.

                                  But this isnt about me.

                                  Helicopter,

If you live in a small town, go see your local bank. If you live in a big town, go to a smaller bank that is not nationwide.

They can give you an unsecured line of credit for 15 to 20k for 6% right now. If you want more info please feel free to email me. walter_chandler1981atyahoo.com. (replace at with @)

I dont work at a bank, but I do alot of investing and I know what is out there.

My fiance' just set up a line of credit for her business this past week. She had about the same amount of credit card debt as you and her payment went from 700 a month interest, (on the 3 credit cards) to 105 dollars a month on a 20k line of credit.(That's if it was maxed out!)

It will be hard to overcome this debt without combining the amounts, but you want to do it without using any credit card companies. Holler at me by email or PM and I will be glad to get you in contact with somebody who can help you.
