#144Originally posted by flyingilliniThe meaning of whacked out to you might have a different meaning than to me. Being whacked out means you love to smoke the black. Yes, lots of problems with Heroin abuse here. Lots of money so there are a lot of functioning addicts.
Wow, scary.

#145Iceman's perfect world:
September-Mid-December- Rent a furnished home in Las Vegas (Summerlin with wife), Strip at Panorama Towers (without wife)
Mid December-January- Flushing, Michigan (my hometown, close to family for the holidays but not living with them)
January-March- Newport Beach, California rent a furnished home on the Ocean or places like Brentwood area, etc.. Don't know enough about all of them but LA area.
April-Mid June- Flathead, Montana (cabin or lodge)
Mid June-August- Cabin in Traverse City, Michigan or Houghton Lake, Michigan
A man can dream can't he? Maybe one day if I can learn to beat the NBA, LOLComment -

#148Originally posted by IcemanIf I had reasons to visit the casinos more I am sure I would love to be closer to the strip but right now since I don't I want to be further away from it. Now if you would ever move out this way maybe I would have a reason but until then I am a Summerlin man.
It really all boils down to taste. Wife's friend told us to check out Boulder City, swore that we would love it. I thiought it was awful. So like I said it really depends on your taste
Serioulsy if Mt.Charleston area was 15 minutes closer and there were some businesses around, I would live there. I am sort of sick of the suburban lifestyle of living 5 feet from each other but nothing you can do about that in Vegas. Might look into Lake Tahoe area one day, looks nice. That or maybe Montana/Wyoming, etc... I am a western U.S guy from here on out.
When I first moved to LV I rented a room from some people I knew from Colo springs that moved there. It was technically in Henderson down Boulder Highway near Trop. There was a nearby bar called Sportsman and Nevada palace was pretty close. I didn't much like it there. I liked my place near Charleston & Decatur better. The worst places ( in LV) I lived at were 15th and Fremont and the Blue Angel motel at Eastern and Fremont.Comment -

#154Originally posted by DougI found Boulder City to be pretty boring too. I worked for an AC contractor there for awhile, but the work was usually actually in West LV. I never did get inside of Hoover traffic jam.

#156Fish, problem i have with the heat in Vegas...
Trying to play golf in 105 degrees is dreadful, i mean that heat, combined with some decent wind, makes for SEVERE chapped lips and a miserable experience. Great in like May though.Comment -

#162Wow congrats if you can pull it off. Would have to be some kind of commision pay structure for me to what to even think about that and sure I still couldn't do it.
390 hours a month with 3 days a month off means working 14 hour work days everyday the rest of the month meaning starting at 7am till 9pm 28 days a month. Thats coutnting getting paide for lunches also. Wow thats a lot!!Comment -

#167In Michigan I worked a job putting in 60 hours or so a week but it was easy and made commisions so was compensated well for it. Never took a vacation in 6.5 years. Sure we had holidays off but nothing that consisted of more then 3 days off at a time for me and 3 days may be pushing it. Never do that again.Comment -

#175Originally posted by DougIf 1/1.5's routinely sell at around 210k then a 2/ 2.5 should bring a good deal more IMO. A two br unit hasn't even been offered for years. The agent suggested 257k, I think I will give him a 90 day listing tomorrow. I'd probably take 240k on it if quickly offered, if it drags on with little interest....it would be adjusted.
I'd probably take 230K for a fast sale. Only listing it will give me the info I need.Comment
