If you took the 2 minutes to read between the lines, that wasn't Canada's A team. Granted, there's no way that Canada would have even competed with Argentina anyways, but it would not have been 5-0.

hockey players are doing 2-3 mins of almost all out skating and then get 5+ min breaks..... very much intervel anaerobic work

I'd rather get trampled by a bull than have Brock Lesnar drop lunch box sized fists on my face while sitting on me. The bull will stomp, maybe he might even lift and throw you around for a bit, but that's unlikely. You can always run. You aren't trapped in a fukking cage with the thing.

If it involves lots of down time, out of bounds, standing around, corner kicks, its still a bit more in soccer but not by far. Hockey players are always going 100% full throttle. I am not taking away from soccer players one bit, they have tremendous stamina. Hockey players also have 20lbs of equipment on their back.

last year I caught a nasty elbow in a flag football game, in a local league. we needed to win to make the playoffs, but we only had just enough players that game. my eye swole shut and we had to duct tape the gash together for the time being and I finished the last9 or 10 mins in that half. we were up by 4 td's and we gave up 3 in the last few mins... 2 were directly my fault, because my vision was affected but mostly because I was so distracted by the pain....

these hockey guys, don't seem to miss a beat, go in the locker room take a few teeth out, get 20 stitches get right back in here like nothing happened

Speed and stamina coincide correct? Soccer players don't get hit constantly, they are not tougher than a hockey player taking a two hander to the body, a puck to the body, a 220lb man at 15 mph crashing into them, case closed.

The only people I have ever met that don't think soccer is tough are the ones that have never played the game. You come and play in our league and you will have more bruises in one game than you ever had playing hockey.

You're just like the thick skulled Greek broad I work next to. You argue for the sake of arguing. Soccer there is little to no contact. It has as much contact as basketball. Just stop. You look like Herman or Venditto right now. I have witnessed world class "futbol" first hand, its not a surprise to me. I have family members involved at the highest level in soccer. Very familiar with the game. It is not even close.
