If hockey players are tougher why do they wear a helmet?

Gotta go with hockey players, they may wear helmets but getting hit in the head with a puck a little more lethal than a ball. Plus, that soccer fight isn't helping.

Hockey players tougher but Soccer players hands down better conditioned and arguably get hotter pieces of ass.

After watching these videos I would say soccer players are tougher. They beat their own selves up.

[It might have something to do with a frozen piece of rubber going at 100mph, getting hit into boards at very high speeds and playing on a hard sheet of ice.... and yet many still chose not to wear the helmet when they had a choice.]
I guess you're right, marathon runners are tougher

When they fall they can crack their heads on ice, not grass.

I am surprised this is turning into a debate. Are you fukking kidding me??
Has anyone ever been considered any NHL player was a homo? Yet look at how many hits you get if you search "cristiano ronaldo gay" on youtube alone:

Sunde, we're not talking about wives.
Broads go for money and guys with all their teeth. Soccer players make more and probably go off the field if they get a hangnail.

Sorry mathy but what's the penalty for a 1 min fight in hockey? 5 min major?
Well the penalty for a 1 min fight in soccer is 2 or more years or banishment for life. No soccer player will risk his career for a hockey style fight.

pavy, is there a punishment for getting back up after falling..... without having first writhed around on the ground with your hands on your face for a good 5-6 seconds?

Mathy the videos you chose are 8-10 years old. FIFA has changed the rules now where faking is given a yellow card. And have you ever seen the video of the two Arsenal players where they broke their legs at the ankles and the foot turned 180 degrees?

Have played all 3. Hockey over soccer and it's not even close. Rugby/Hockey is arguably the same but if you remove the fighting element than rugby is tougher. If it is based on endurance as a measure of toughness than it's soccer, rugby, and then hockey.

They are still faking and diving every single game I see. You guys defend it by saying that it's "part of the game", and that's the point. The usual diving is not as brutal as the ones in that compilation but it's still there. Looking like you're about to die, then seeing you didn't get a call, then getting back up again in 100% health. How can you respect a player like that? We all hated Crosby when he entered the NHL because he was always whining and begging refs for calls.
pavy, toughness is not based upon what can happen to you, but how you deal with it. As archie said, too many players have had their throats slit by hockey skates, and we get the broken ankles too.
When Keith had those 7 teeth knocked out he did not even fall to the ice - he just skated to the bench.

never seen a sport where a player gets 30 facial stitches and comes back and plays 20 mins later....
getting hit by a hockey puck has to be worse than getting hit by a baseball. guys are breaking their feet all the time, playing through it until after game time... and they still come back before the bone is fully healed...

Mathy how does it feel to be Canadian and have Argentina trash you 5-0? Oh yeah you were all gloating when Canada won the Olympics but because you suck in soccer you don't like the game.
