#353Sad story, man. I won't lecture you because I am sure you heard it all before and well I remember when I was in your shoes and being lectured just made me want to prove everyone wrong. Addiction is not 100% understood. I dislike when people call it a disease. Just like doctors treat depression like diabetes. You feel down, take some pills. Treating depression is based on theories.
For me, depression is a sign my life is out of balance. Whether it is the way I am looking at life or my diet. Your mental stability plays a vital role in your life choices. Ever have a bad day at work and get a small case of road rage? Or maybe get into a verbal argument and discover yourself having one too many drinks? You really need to be balanced to make clear judgements when it comes to risk.Comment -

#359dump the poker. everyone thinks they are a good poker player just because they think they can outbluff someone anytime. dump the baseball since you don't seem to have a grasp on that game. probably too many favorites did you in. turn yourself out and freshen up for football and only and i mean only bet road team short priced underdogs in teasers and parlays and straight up. no totals no favorites ever. play road teams in college and pro getting 1/2-6 1/2 pts., tease them up to get over that 7 and 10 threshold. be creative. don't be concerned about when the games are played. ex: a thurs. nite game with the sun or mon nite game or any combination of days or times or college or pro. start teasers and leave them open. parlay those dogs that you think can win outright. you will flow through the weekend with winner and live teased games upcoming and chances to go for middles on sunday too. do not quit gambling since 9.00/hr won't cut it. max out ************ to bet if you can. but you must stay in action and buy lottery tickets it is your out.Comment -

#360Terrible advice by unusialsusp5. Get your life together first. Gambling, at the point where you are, is only an extra. It is not a foundation.
There's nothing wrong with gambling a little here and there, but you have to get the foundation of your life in order first. This is America, and if you do the work and research, there are plenty of solid streams of income. Start at A, work yourself up to B, and so on. Stop complaining and making yourself feel powerless. You are not a victim. You are in charge of your life, and there is no limit to what you can do.Comment -

#361These stories pop up every few months. Hate to be a prick but don't you guys have any discipline? I know it is difficult but when your life and your families life is on the line step up and do what needs to be done. Quit gambling or play small, very small. Don't listen to the idiots that talk about quitting like it is a bad thing because it is the only out for many people. You have people telling you otherwise, well read some of their posts and you will soon realize how incredibly stupid they are.
I would hope that you take responsibility and I wish you the very best. I sent you a few points.Comment -

#362Why do people bump these ancient threads. It started over a year ago, and the OP hasnt posted in it since Feb of this year, and hasnt posted at all since before May of this year. So not sure what is worse bumping it or having 3 more pages talking about it. Same thing with that other thread that is 3 years old that got bumped.Comment -

#363my latest gambling story: got bored of the baseball grind on my budget, i'm a small timer betting $20 a game. went all in for $430 on clayton kershaw vs. diamondbacks about 11 days ago. lost. took a break. redeposited. starting the cycle again, gonna grind my way up to $700-800 then go all in. everyone is different. i do not mind, in fact i love gambling and just always think if i did something different i would win big, hahaha. but i bet small because i can afford that.Comment -

#364I'm a very strong limit holdem player... msg me if you need help with your game... limit is different from no-limit, very different..Originally posted by OmgUrMommost of my losses where playing live poker in casinos.
Endoftime, in minnesota they have this law that says max bet $60 so there is no, no limit tables
. So i end up playing limit at canterbury, im absolutely terrible at limit and i get absolutely destroyed
(8/16-15/30) 30/60 if im really tilted
