Chandler Parsons Claims He Is The Best White Player In The NBA

When asked what it's like to be white in the NBA, Parsons said, "We play basketball because we play basketball. We don't see color when we're playing basketball... It doesn't matter if you're playing with a bunch of Europeans, black guys, Asian guys, Latin guys. It doesn't matter, because you guys are all there to do one thing, and that's playing basketball."

Parsons referred to himself as the best white player in the NBA, something the Memphis Grizzlies feel similarly about evident by the max contract they gave Parsons to pry him away from Dallas this past offseason.

"When I dunk on somebody, it'll be like, 'Oh, Chandler Parsons is deceptively athletic.' Why wouldn't I just be athletic?"

When asked why the NBA doesn't have as many white people in the league, Parsons kept his answer simple.

"The NBA is a collection of some of the most athletic guys in the world. And white guys just aren't that athletic."

What advice would Parsons give to a young white American kid with NBA aspirations?

    "Play golf."

Hayward keeps getting passed up for Team USA with DeRozan/ Butler in his place, but he's knocking on the door. Parsons doesn't know where the door is.

Don't think Porzingis/Dirk/the Gasols etc are considered "white guys" by NBA people. Which doesn't make sense in a way but whatever.

White Europe vs White America would make a great ball game.

    Marc vs Lopez (either one)
    Porzingis vs Love
    Gallinari vs Parsons
    Fournier vs Hayward
    Dragic vs McConnell

Euros win of course. The edge at pg too much

At this point I'd take Tyler Johnson over Parsons. Love and Hayward are definitely better than Parsons. David Lee is on his way out but he's a 2x All-Star.

LOL. Gallinari is more athletic. Hayward is more athletic. Korver is a better shooter. Delly is a better passer. Won't compare him to Centers.

I still haven't seen Parsons hit a clutch shot when his team needed it. Guy is overrated.

The good news is that Chandler Parsons hasn't injured the right knee that was surgically repaired twice in the last two years. The bad news is that his left knee is now ailing.

The Memphis Grizzlies forward could miss up to two weeks with a bone bruise in his left knee, a source told ESPN's Tim MacMahon, and he's already been ruled out of Monday's game in Charlotte.

Parsons signed a four-year, $94-million contract with the Grizzlies in July. He missed the first six games of the season recovering from March surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee - the same knee that underwent a microfracture procedure in May 2015.

The 28-year-old has yet to find his footing with the Grizzlies, averaging 7.7 points and three rebounds on 39 percent shooting in 21 minutes per game.

In a statement to Wojnarowski, Parsons expressed regret that he wasn’t able to finish out the 2018/19 season with the Grizzlies. According to Wojnarowski, the veteran forward wanted to keep practicing with the team, even if he wasn’t being activated for games, but the Grizz preferred to have him leave the club until a resolution can be reached.

“I am extremely disappointed that I didn’t get to finish this season alongside my teammates and the Memphis coaching staff,” Parsons told ESPN. “Unfortunately that option wasn’t presented to me.

“The Grizzlies training staff medically cleared me to play 5-on-5 in mid-December and I have been practicing with the team ever since. I will continue to work out and train until my agent and the team reach a resolution. I am ready to play and committed to getting back on the court.”
