Card Collecting died back when the Major card companies started flooding the market making too many cards of the same players. It was like the video game crash of the early 80's, but it never recovered.

My father-in-law died a few years ago and he left me his baseball card collection. He thought it was worth a fortune. Not sentimental value - he thought the cards were actually very valuable on the market. I took an inventory and put them on Craigslist and Ebay. Nothing. I ended up just throwing them away.

    I used to be.

Easier & probably cheaper to just buy the cards you want.

My biggest pull ever was Upper Deck SPX Basketball first year.

4 packs off the top of new box in an athletic store in mall & in 2 of the packs for a jordan auto-redemption card & penny Hardaway auto-redemption. $5,500 and $1,000 value at the time.

Yes sir most hobby cases/packs still go thru dealers online or card shops.

In many cases retail & hobby will have different limited inserts but usually hobby has the better limited stuff.

I know this isnt sports but as i said i also like movie auto inserts.
Have my eyes on a couple in these hobby boxes:

No, with some of the newer packs you can feel the sides and tell if theres an autograph or jersey card inside.

One of the worst things that ever happened was video games kids became dumber and antisocial

95% of kids could not name five baseball players anymore

Higher end packs are unreachable & rightly so, when packs sell for $89.99-$199.99 PER PACK.
