Don't bet Houston, points or ml, O'Brien wants out.

Don't bet Houston, neither ML or points.
They are a crap team who got lucky last week, everyone knows
Oakland would have won with Carr.

Word is Bill O'Brien wants out of his contract as head coach of the Texans,
does not see eye-to-eye with Bob McNair or Rick Smith and basically feels
that Brock Osweiler was a stupid signing, he doesn't respect his own quarterback,
wants a fresh start elsewhere - and input on the grocery list.

Report: Bill O'Brien not happy with Texans, could still leave

Will Bill O'Brien leave Houston Texans after playoffs?

Betting on teams with coaches who want to leave
is no way to profit in the NFL playoffs.

Wouldn't bet Houston if O'Brien just signed a 10 year extension. Their offense stinks, reason enough alone. Line can't be high enough.

Pats on the spread is not a bad ATS play, we know it's uncomfortable
to lay these kind of points - but yes, it's the correct ATS lean, there
is no alternative... whether one buys hooks or does a tease-down is
    up to your own strategy.

Brady has a grudge against O'Brien for chewing him out when
he was the Patriots quarterback coach back in 09-10, he will
go OFF... this will be a SHOW.

81% of the $$$$ on NE ATS.......

Never cover if the $$$$ doesn't even out.

Plus they are lowering the line when should be raising..........

Does not matter how shitty they are the refs and maybe NE kicker will make sure they cover........

Not really. I heard he didn't want him, but went along with it only because he had
been playing with Keenum, Weeden and Hoyer. What's he supposed to say ?
McNair and Smith wanted Osweiler. O'Brien went along.
Now O'Brien doesn't trust Brock with the play calls. You see them play, Brock
    is not in charge here
. O'Brien was outspoken control freak at Penn State and wants
more ability in roster selection (press play audio), wants to shape his own team.
A new team, not the Texans. The talk about O'Brien being fired if they lost to
the Raiders had to really upset him. Whether McNair promises him greater
control over the roster is not addressed in today's damage control statement.

The ML is a ridiculous wager. Betting everythng most of you guys have to win 5 or 10 bucks is just plain silly. Pass on this game.

Pats could be up 20 with a couple minutes to go and Houston scores a garbage TD to cover. Will it? Could it?

He should have some kind of control over who is the qb at least. If the ownership just snagged Oswaller and didn't consult with him then I'd be looking to leave as well. I can't imagine he wasn't part of the reason brock is there though

With McDaniels likely leaving, that opens the OC slot for O'Brien to come back if he leaves Houston. He then can coach Brady for year and con another team into hiring him.

I don't get this guy at all. His game strategy stinks most of the time, doesn't even use people upstairs to look at replays. He's coaching in a division with 2 of the worst 3 teams in the league the last 3 years (Tenn. and Jax) and one of the worst coaching/GM staffs (Indy). His record against good teams is awful.

I still say he didn't even do a great job at Penn State, going 8-4 and 7-5, and getting whipped by every good team he played. People forget, even with the few that bailed out, Paterno had a loaded roster that was at worst 3rd best in the Big 10 when O'Brien took over. He should have won at least 8 games.

    we'll see who they draft..
either way, it's an issue. His job is secure but he would leave in a heartbeat.
and nobody thinks they can win this game, and nobody will be surprised if they get
    blown out at Foxboro.

So the discussion went like this

Corporate: Hey OB we like this guy in Denver because he played with papa johns jr and was drafted by Elway so he is going to take us to the next level!

Coach OB: Uh I haven't really been looking at the dude seeing as how I already have a mess in front of me that I'm trying to sort out. Let me see some film on him and get some information first.

Corporate: No worries he is reporting to camp tomorrow so you will get to see him all you want!

    Coach OB: Super duper

That's just my two second vision of that conversation.

If you know the Patriots and how they work, you KNOW that when
they say things like this, the real message is "we will kill them".

Josh McDaniels thinks Texans secondary is better than Broncos secondary

I am thinking that NE 1H might be the way to play this.

They come out early get a lead and coast. Then you should not have to worry about the back door garbage time TD

NE coast? Lol,,,, they keep their foot on the throat until the clock reads zero, unlike every other conservative pussy team in the league.
This is one of the reasons for their incredible record under Belichik.

All this team needs is a care taker qb. The coach sucks so I wish they would let him go. I got stuck watching this team all year and wondered why they hired this knucklehead. Play calling sucked. To bench ost during the season knowing they were making the playoffs was stupid as hell.

Bill O'Brien claims he won't use massive betting line as motivation

    http://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/p...-as-motivation

The last time a team was such a big favorite in a playoff game came in 1998, according to ESPN Stats & InformatHOUSTON -- The Houston Texans enter Saturday’s playoff matchup as 16-point underdogs to the top-seeded New England Patriots, which is only the fourth time a team has been favored by 16 or more points in a playoff game in the past 40 years.

But Texans coach Bill O’Brien said he doesn’t plan on using that as motivational material as his team prepares for the game.

“What does that matter?” O’Brien said Monday. “The only thing that matters is what takes place in between the lines on Saturday night.

“So no, I don’t really go too much to the Vegas betting line. I don’t think that will really be a good motivational tool this week.”
The last time a team was such a big favorite in a playoff game came in 1998, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. ***All three teams to be favored by at least 16 points in the past 40 years have covered the point spread in those games.***

So you're trying to say that a business that's in this for the next like 500 years has a lot riding on Houston covering the number in 1 game during 1 year? Give it a break Pauly. You're wrong. Vegas loses lots of nights. It's proven fact.
