Might as well take SF to win the series at +393, because if they survive tonight they are most likely advancing.
You could hedge with a bet on Cubs ML, guaranteeing a small loss at worst.

That is far from a given, Cubs would be around -165 in Game 5.

No need to hedge game 5 (if it goes 5). Cubs lose tonight and they are done.

They lost their appeal to me when Stras went down. Baker is a horrible manager also. That guy has had so many talented, all star filled rosters and always finds a way to screw it up. Giants, Cubs, Reds, Nats. He's a career loser when it really counts. You could give him the 1927 Yankees and he wouldn't win the championship.
I'm one of few of this opinion, but in the playoffs I don't think there are many collapses. Winning or losing 3 games in a row is not uncommon AT ALL.

Lester could win game 5 with 1 run. We saw it before.

And if you want to pick Giants to win the series. Bet them tonight. Then take amount risked + amount won and put them on Giants game 5. Will be a bigger payout

Consensus is on Cubs and market moving against Cubs.

That results in a bigger loss if Giants lose tonight though. I prefer the safer play with hedging. Whatever you decide, lets win some money.

You're right, it's not really a collapse. It's just holding serve for 2 home games and winning 1 road game. Or in other words just sweeping a 3 game series. Happens all the time. Only difference is the caliber of opponent and pitching since it's the playoffs but I get your point. It's mostly just media hype and haters that tout up the collapse. It's not uncommon at all for a MLB team to win or lose 3 in a row.

I don't understand. Risk the same amount tonight as you would for the series bet. Still lose the same amount if they don't win the series. And win a little bit extra if they win the series (not much extra)

Baseball is so penetrating unpredictable. Awful teams win a lot games. NBA is the sport that has collapses imo

Licking my chops for game 5. I will double dip on giants. Cueto is a live dog vs Lester who will get raped vs this giant team that now has bats going.

Can already see Posey with big homer.

What I mean is that if I risked $100 on the series at +380 and hedged to win $100 on Cubs ML tonight at -121, the worst I can lose tonight is $21.

If I had instead bet the Giants ML at +113 tonight to risk $100 and the Giants lose the game, I lose $100.

You want to bet a series price, and before a game has even been played you are hedging

If you are holding a +380 ticket on a deciding game that will likely be -130 Cubs, I'd hedge.

260 to win 200 on the Cubs. Now you are guaranteed of winning either $120 or $100.
