All of the chatter I have heard leading up to this series is what a great offensive team the Royals are and how they can handle hard throwers, as if the Mets staff features 1 dimension pitchers who only try to throw it past you. However, all of these Mets pitcher not only throw hard, but they have great secondary pitches with excellent COMMAND. They also rarely walk people. Look to the Cubs series and how they kept elite fastball hitters like Shwarber off balance all series.

We know that the Royals starting staff is nothing special. Cueto and Volquez do not scare me. Yes they have a great bullpen, but that may partially be offset by a Mets staff who may be able to go deep into games, as well as a top 3 closer who was a former starter that has proven to be a horse capable of going multiple innings. In the end, the old saying of "pitching wins" will prove true.

The thing is that with the Mets pitching they should stay competitive in all of the games. You never know what you get out of Cueto so its def not over
