IMO, Monkey's right, it seems to be all about the longing for attention/recognition. Most of Justin's threads sound like mild chest-thumping. Him mentioning that he is/was behind the Pinnacle Pulse newsletter thingie is another proof.

BTW, I understand where Monkey's coming from, but the truth is that Forumville is probably a bigger threat to the average sharp's bottom line than any printed publication will ever be. I'm still quite new at this (3 years or so), but I've already seen a lot of soft stuff disappear from books quickly after they were exposed on betting forums - think correlated parlays and underpriced points. Most smaller books don't really know what they're doing, but they know how to read.

Very true, Matty. The forums certainly (at the very least) exascerbate that process. Modelers have traditionally been uneffected by the forums, however, since the undertaking is fairly advanced, undocumented, and incredibly time consuming. Should someone provide a cookbook to modeling, our methods become antiquated and so many more people fight for a (ever diminishing) piece of the pie.

My guess is Justin is not a long-time pro gambler or any kind of gambler. He was probably introduced to gambling accidentally when an opportunity for easy money arouse. So it's sort of understandable. It's not exactly fair to those who spend decades searching for advantage plays and rely on them exclusively to make a living. But hey, it's a lost cause.
How many people did Thorp screw over. Probably the very same people that introduced him to blackjack and taught him everything he knew. But he's the big shot.
