this is a fcking gold mine pal. a few ppl here and other forums have the running total, but lang is down about -1300 dimes in 2009....his bets rang from 5-100 dimes......usually in the 5-30 dime bets....you would be up a shitload of money if you faded him religiously all year.

This dude, I just don't understand his "angle" here. I get the "luring buyers to other cappers picks" (whether the other guys are actually in fact just him or not) because his own picks are so bad but what I don't understand is how he manages to lose this much. MONDAY


30 DIME - NEW ORLEANS SAINTS - The New Orleans Saints and head coach Sean Payton get to show the world on Monday night they are the greatest show in the NFL this year.



And when they do that tonight against this beaten up Falcons defense, I am not going to be on the wrong side of this blowout.



Forget the line move. It can work it's way up to as much as 13 because it won't matter if the Saints win by 14 or more will it? The Saints have the ability at home tonight to destroy Atlanta by 3 touchdowns. This current edition of Atlanta doesn't have that same capability.



We saw it at New England earlier this year when they lost 26-10, and at Dallas last week 37-21.



This game is about one matchup and one matchup only, the Saints offense against a beaten up Falcons defense.



In their 3 games versus the NFC this year, the Saints beat Detroit 45-27 to open the year, put up 48 at Philadelphia destroying the Eagles 48-22 and destroyed the Giants 48-27 at home 3 weeks ago.



With injuries along their defensive front, the Falcons can't get pressure on the QB as evidenced by last weeks loss to Dallas. When you can't get pressure with your front 4 in the NFL it's common knowledge you have to then blitz. That leaves your secondary in man to man coverage.



Against the same defense Drew Brees will see this week Tony Romo went 21 for 29 for 299 yards. Let us make no mistake about it, Romo ain't no Drew Brees.



Here is the dilemma facing the Falcons tonight. Blitz and Brees will own you. Rush 4 or 5 and play zone behind it, and Brees will pick you apart. Pick your poison and either way, the Saints offense will be to much for this Falcons defense. Simple as that.



As we have seen with the Falcons all year long, they are not able to sustain drives and execute offensively for 60 minutes. They are not going to shut down the Saints tonight. They are going to have to match them score for score and when they don't they will be down 2 scores just like that.



And once you are down 2 scores, you have to abandon your running game and start throwing and that leads to turnovers and that leads to another Saints blowout.



Just ask the Lions, Eagles and Giants how it feels to play catch up versus the Saints. It's no fun. Especially in New Orleans in the dome.



I am laying this big number and forcing Atlanta to do something they weren't able to do against both Dallas and New England and that is stay within 14 points on the road.



20 DIME, 2-TEAM - 6-POINT TEASER - If Atlanta is going to cover this number tonight it's going to be a backdoor situation with the Saints up 14 to 17 points late. So to protect myself with any backdoor madness with a number like this I am going to tease the Saints and the Over.



I like the Saints tonight. I like the OVER tonight. Simple as that.



However, in a crazy Monday night shootout which I believe we will get, Atlanta does have the offensive weapons that if they get down big and the Saints fall asleep a little bit, I can see the Falcons having the ball down 17 with 3 minutes to go trying to backdoor the world.



My case and point is last week versus the Cowboys. Let's say Dallas was laying 11 in that game last week instead of 4. Up 16 with 2:16 to go, the Falcons got the ball back with a perfect chance against the Dallas prevent defense to get a backdoor score.



Granted, Matt Ryan was picked off on the first pass play but as you can see, they did get the ball back down 16 with a chance to work on their 2 minute drill versus the Cowboys prevent defense.



That same situation could prevent itself in this game tonight with the Saints laying this double digit number.



So as protection against the backdoor, I am going to a 2-team teaser to protect the side and total I absolutely love.

10 DIME - NY YANKEES - This is strictly a hedge play on my 20 dime series play on the Phillies.

To have to sit there and watch the New Orleans Saints give away a cover on Monday night again made me want to throw up.

It is becoming evident that Sean Payton and this current Saints bunch choke big time under the Monday night lights.

Last year they did the same thing to me when I used them on their only Monday night appearance against Tarvaris Jackson and the Minnesota Vikings, and watched in horror as they turned it over 4 times including 2 interceptions by Drew Brees and 11 penalties for over 100 yards in a 30-27 loss.

In that game they somehow figured out a way to be losing 20-10 at the half despite 234 yards of total offense to only 83 for the Vikings.

I'm talking about 6 first half possessions of a TD on their first drive, a 46 yard field goal blocked for TD by the Vikings on their 2nd drive, a FG on their 3rd drive after a 3rd and 1 holding call at the Vikings 17, a fumble by Brees at his own 25 on the 4th drive, a Bush fumble at the Vikings 30 on the 5th drive.

The cherry on top of the sundae was a Brees pick at the Vikings 11 yard line on their 6th and final drive of the first half.

And just like last year they gave away the cover this year with not only 4 more turnovers but after putting up 28 points in the 1st half, their offense takes the 2nd half off by going scoreless in the 3rd quarter.

I'm talking about the best offense in the NFL unable to pick up a pair of 3rd down and 3's, one of which led to a missed 37 yard chip shot field goal.

So again, bend over, grab your ankles today and thank Sean Payton, Drew Brees and the rest of these Saints for screwing everyone on Monday night for the 2nd straight year.

My focus now shifts to weeknight college football where I am the only handicapper on this website who has hit 6 straight sides the last 2 weeks. Check it out folks. THE ONLY ONE.

10 DIME - BOWLING GREEN FALCONS - (if line is 3 you buy the 1/2 and get 3 1/2, if line is 2 1/2, you buy the 1/2 and get 3) - Going to side with the road dog tonight.

Buffalo is facing arguably the best QB/Wide Receiver tandem in the country in Tyler Sheehan and the nation's leading receiver in Freddie Barnes, and with a really banged up secondary of Buffalo, the points are without question the way to go.

Am I a little concerned with the rush defense of Bowling Green? You bet I am.

In their last 6 games, the Falcons have given up over 200 yards rushing to 6 straight opponents but the strange thing is the last 2 games they still held Ball State to 17 points and the best team in the MAC Central Michigan to 24.

The problem facing Buffalo is turnovers. 18 total this year forcing only 11. That is how you lose football games here folks. Turnovers.

Buffalo will have chances in this game. I believe they will rely heavily on the run. But as they have all year long, they will turn it over at crucial times and that will be the difference.

It's the Freddie Barnes show on ESPN2 as the country gets a look at the next MAC wide receiver to make it big in the NFL.

10 DIME - ORLANDO MAGIC - I am going to keep riding this Magic team laying whatever number they put out there.

Tonight they find themselves in Detroit to battle this Pistons team that as we are finding out, is done.

Detroit is off a home loss to Oklahoma City by 8 at home, and at Milwaukee by double digits. Not exactly the Detroit Pistons we all remember now are they?

This Magic team has won all 3 of their games this year by 14, 10 and 9 points covering all 3 and you go back to an 8-0 preseason run winning by an average margin of 18 points an dit's game on here.

I am not a believer in the Pistons, and I believe it's going to be a very long year.

10 DIME - DALLAS MAVERICKS - You start losing at home by double digits to a depleted Houston Rockets team at home and now roll into Dallas on back to back nights, I'm sorry, I don't trust this Jazz team.

They looked terrible last night and now in Dallas the Mavs will take no pity on this team.

The Utah Jazz are on an incredible 0-11 ATS run when they are an underdog of 5 to 10 1/2 points. OUCH.

You add the fact the favorite is 4-0 the last 4 in this series and the home team on a 21-5 ATS run and you can see the only way to go in this game is with the Dallas Mavs at home.

Was I nervous when Bowling Green didn't make it on 4th and 2 at the Buffalo 4 yard line with just over 8 minutes to go? You bet I was, especially when the right thing to do was kick the field goal.



But thanks to a horrible 3rd down and 4 play call on the ensuing Buffalo drive from the Falcons 44 yard line, and a personal foul penalty on the punt, Bowling Green got the ball back with just over 3 minutes to go and you just knew what time it was.



FREDDIE BARNES TIME.



And I said in my analysis, the leading receiver in the country would be the difference down the stretch, and he most certainly was but I also take my hat off to the coaching staff of Bowling Green and the adjustments they made in the 2nd half.



The only score they gave up was a fumbled punt at the 4 yard line. What on gods earth is this kid doing fielding the punt inside his own 5 anyways? It ended up not mattering but when will these punt returners learn, you line up at the 10 and if it's over your head let it go.



You throw in the Mavs miracle comeback and it's a winning night. Amazing the turns in games night in and night out.

10 DIME - DENVER NUGGETS - I am going to start riding this team like there is no tomorrow.



They just flat out manhandled the Pacers last night, crushing them by double digits jumping on them right from the opening tip outscoring Indiana 30-13 and never looked back.



At 4-0 this is the best start in 24 years for Denver, and considering the mantra of this very close knit basketball team, they will not let up this year.



They are about getting better every night but more than that, if you watch this team play they are having fun. Trust me folks, that is a very lethal combination at the NBA level.



This quote from Chauncey Billups from last night says it all, "We have a real good aura, a real good feel about what we can be as a team this year."



I'm with you Chauncey, and having spent a little time around George Karl in the past when he was in Milwaukee, his message to the Nuggets tonight will be if we don't bring it again tonight then the effort last night will be wasted.



I will roll with this Nuggets team to hammer the winless Nets from the opening tip and run away in the 2nd half for another double digit road win.

Pinkney was terrible for East Carolina all night as was the offensive play calling. I mean, if V'Tech is continually coming with all out blitzes and playing man-to-man behind it, how about a QB draw, slip screen or even a roll out away from pressure?

Nope, nothing. Just left Pinkney out to dry.

Of course it didn't help having 2 fumbles inside the V'tech 20 yard line either. I said in my analysis the only way East Carolina wouldn't win outright, or cover was to lose the battle of turnovers and that is exactly what they did.

Oh well, although the game fell right on the number of 13 thus making it a push unless you waited until late in the afternoon to place your wager, to me it still feels like a loss do to the fact of how well East Carolina's defense played, they should have covered the number easy.

No worries. Back on the saddle tonight with weeknight college winner # 8 in a row. That ridiculous push last night will not stop me from getting # 8 in a row. I am getting it tonight.

15 DIME - BOISE STATE BRONCOS - Going to lay the wood tonight.


In pulling the trigger on this 21 point spread, I just kept coming back to a pair of games that get me on Boise State tonight. It's their 2 battles on the road versus Fresno State and Bowling Green.

At Bowling Green, against the 3rd best passing offense in the country and the leading receiver in the country in Freddie Barnes, Boise flat out destroyed the Falcons to the tune of 49-14.

At Fresno State, against the 5th best rushing attack in the country and 37th best offense overall, they managed to win that game 51-34.

So against 2 teams with top 10 rushing and passing attacks in the country they won by margins of 17 and 35.

Yes, La-Tech has a much better defense than both Fresno and Bowling Green, but it's a defense that has never matched up with Boise State year in and year out.

The last 5 meeting have all been Boise State blowouts by an average margin of 29 points.

Now this year's version of Boise State offensivley is average over 41 points a game and in my mind, they will get to the magical number of 45 which I feel is what they are going to have to get to so they can cover this number.

This is a tired bunch of players at La-Tech.

They traveled across country to Utah State and lost a heartbreaker 23-21. They went back home only to fly cross country again to take on Idaho and lost another heartbreaker 35-34, because their moron of a place kicker missed an extra point on their last TD.

Now back home, with a ton of injuries at key positions across the board, they take on a Broncos team that in front of a national tv audience and BCS implications, will be motivated to take care of business in a very big way.

Can La-Tech play great and cover this number? You bet they can but in no way, shape or form are they the right side of this game.

The Tech offense is going to have to make plays in this football game. An offense ranked 39th running it, 81st passing it. An offense facing a Boise defense ranked 11th in the country stopping the run and the 10th best defense overall.

Tech will not be able to run it. If they are going to cover this number they are going to have to throw and when that happens, you can count on turnovers, of which Boise has forced 19 this year, good for 20th in the country.

Boise hired a PR firm to help them with this BCS mess and if they don't step up tonight and hammer a complete inferior opponent in front of a national tv audience, no PR firm will be able to help them.

They need to dominate this team. Hammer this team. Leave no doubt versus this team. Basically they need to do to this team what they have always done to this team. BLOW THEM OUT.

I will tip my cap to Louisiana Tech if they play great football for 60 minutes and cover this number but for my dollar, I am not going to be on the wong side of a Broncos blowout tonight. NO WAY.

I see Boise State winning this game by 4 touchdowns.



5 DIME - CHARLOTTE BOBCATS - Great spot for the Bobcats against the Hawks tonight.



Atlanta comes into this game off a 3-game west coast road trip, and I expect them to be a step slow tonight against a fired up Bobcats team tonight.

People don't understand what it is like traveling to the west coast, playing 3 games out there and now traveling back east playing their 4th game in 6 nights, early in the season or not, jet lag is jet lag.

Charlotte is playing better since their opening night loss to the Celtics in a game they got beat 92-59.

They have won 2 of their last 3 SU but covering all 3 against the Knicks, Cavs and Nets. Now as a small home dog versus the Hawks, I like their defense in this spot.

They have covered 17 of their last 23 games at home and considering how good a defense they are playing, I love them catching this number in a game I feel they win outright.

5 DIME - DENVER NUGGETS - Love the Nuggets.



They are undefeated at 5-0 while covering 4 of their first 5. The only game they didn't cover was a 10 1/2 number at home winning by 10 over Memphis.

There little journey through the Eastern Conference has seen them cover both games over Indiana and New Jersey by 18 and 28 points respectively.

The New Jersey game is a perfect example as to how good this team can be when they want to turn it on. Trailing by 1 at the half, they came out in the 2nd half and outscored the Nets by 18 points in the 3rd putting the game away.

At a perfect 3-0 SU and ATS on the road this year, I like them to have their focus from the opening tip versus D'wade and the Heat and win this one from wire to wire.

I expect a playoff atmosphere in Miami tonight and in an enviorment like that, I like the more balanced team from top to bottom, the Denver Nuggets.

30 DIME - KANSAS STATE WILDCATS - The wrong team is favored here.


The bottom line is this game is about 2 teams heading in opposite directions. Simple as that.

Not only has Kansas lost 3 in a row SU, but they have now dropped 5 in a row ATS. This team can't get out of their own way right now and on the road today will not make it any better.

Kansas State comes in winners of 3 of their last 5 SU, and 4-1 ATS.

The crazy thing about Kansas State is they control their own destiny to get in the Big 12 championship game. A win today, and a win at Nebraska to end the year and they will have a date with Texas.

What makes this game even more appealing to me is the effort Kansas State put forth on the road at Oklahoma last week.

They were down only 35-20 with 7 minutes to go in the 4th before they just ran out of gas losing 42-30. The same Oklahoma team that a week earlier went into Kansas and just dominated this overrated and over hyped Jayhawks team 35-13.

I am all over the home dog to take another step towards the Big 12 championship game today with a big home win.

10 DIME - PURDUE BOILERMAKERS - Don't feel Michigan is trustworthy to be laying almost a full touchdown in this spot here.


I am talking about a Michigan team that comes off back to back losses to Penn State at home 35-10, and at Illinois last week as a 7-point favorite 38-13.

Talk about embarrassing. Lose by 25 on the road as a 7 point favorite. Exactly.

How soon we forget about Purdue beating Ohio State at home in a game they put up over 300 yards total offense on the Buckeyes defense and overcoming 3 turnovers as well.

Yes Purdue does come off a 37-0 loss at Wisconsin, but all that loss did was give me extra value here and it's value I will gladly take.

Another thing, I really like here is the fact Michigan runs the spread offense, a little like Ohio State does and in the full scheme of things, I really like how Purdue matches up here.

Oh, and one more thing. The talk of college football right now is the Oregon Ducks and just how great they are right now off their win over USC.

This Purdue team went into Oregon and lost 38-36 in a game they should have won outright as a 13 point dog. They put up 170 yards on the ground, 271 through the air but just came up a little short.

I look for the same kind of effort by Purdue today and an easy cover right along with it.

10 DIME - STANFORD CARDINAL - I really feel this game will be closer than everyone thinks.


Stanford has not only covered 10 straight home games, but 4 of those have been outright.

With a week off to prepare and catching Oregon off the huge win last week at home to USC, you couldn't have given Stanford a better spot to deliver a shocker than right here.

In their 4 home games this year Stanford has won 3 of those by 20 or more, and the other was an 8 point win over UCLA.

I am taking nothing away from Oregon and what they have done, but fact of the matter is they have only played 2 road games in the PAC-10 and in those games they have been the beneficiary of 3 turnovers at UCLA and 3 at Washington.

Trust me when I tell you Stanford is an upgrade from those 2 teams, and I have all the confidence in the world this is a field goal game all the way and it wouldn't suprise me if Stanford won the game outright.
