I get betting an 8 seed in nhl playoffs but betting a 8 seed to beat a 1 in nba is unheard of. 4 times in history. Its just not worth it no matter what the perceived value is

I'm not though honestly. 4 teams all time have beaten 1 as a 8. Is +750 really enough for that kind of hill to overcome. Bucks futures didnt move against them when Giannis was banged up. Giannis still banged up and they remain #1 on future odds. I mean its quite obvious. Honestly I've been in alot of JV's threads offering up advice pregame and even before his bets are losses offering up advice to bet differently

Giannis being out was never gonna move futures when it's a short-term injury and the opponent is the Miami Heat. The Bucks are the deepest team in the league, they aren't strangers to missing their best player.

Furthermore, Herro is out for the Heat. That's a big deal. He's a different kind of scorer than Butler and without him they are much easier to defend. Those injuries just about cancel out. I'm not saying Herro is as good as Giannis, but his absence affects the Heat as much or more than Giannis' affects the Bucks because of roster makeup.

Interesting note. This guy (Budenholzer) does have a reputation for being a "roll out the balls" guy. Not necessarily a good in-game coach.

This is an odd type of series. Easily Milwaukee could win 3 in a row with Miami's injuries. How Butler isn't tired yet is beyond me. Maybe George and Leonard could take notes on how to never give up on your team like how Butler plays.

You're right. George and Leonard couldn't care less.

Think about the great players in the history of the league. Missing a playoff game normally meant you physically were incapable of playing. Kareem on crutches vs the Sixers, for example.

The NBA is littered w/ great players who played up to and beyond their limits:
*McHale: on the broken foot. Doctors told him not to play.
*Bird: with back problems. He said the Boston Garden fans took him to another level.
*Willis Reed: in game 7. Was basically listed as OUT. Went as long as he could, and then Frazier took over.
*Jordan: multiple times. Thru flu and injury.
*Ewing: on battered knees. People hate him but he was tough. Good even with a banged-up body.
