If harris can hits 3s or clax doesn't get kicked out nets win game 3. Embiid out forvthe series they coulda taken it
But team needs a finisher. There is no go to guy. Dinwiddie wants the ball but sux at crunch time
Nets got robbed, kd and irving for bridges 2 role players dinwiddie and picks. Now suns the clear favorites to go to the finalsComment -

#248Nah, Nets got a tremendous player in Bridges. Stand up guy as well. Really hard to find someone like that to build around. Better swap those vets for young talent though.Comment -

#253Imagine if the Mavs had acquired him instead of Irving... would have been set for the next 15 years. I felt they should have kept KP, regardless of rumours of him & Doncic not being the best of buddies. Impatient organisation. They would rather make a change to reap the credit of it's success even if that success is more likely by sitting on their hands. Learned nothing from their rivals, the Spurs.Comment -

Look at the pistons. They've had a top 10 pick in the draft for the last 10 years. They haven't done dick since 2010. No playoff wins. Only 1 or 2 appearances. Look who is on their team. They have Marvin Bagley who is 23 years old. James Wiseman who is 20. Cade Cunningham who is 20/21. Ivy who is 20. Killian Hayes who is 20. All those players were top 10 picks.
How long do you give for Marvin Bagley, one of these "young talents" to develop? Guy has been in the league for 4 years. Wisemen has been in the league for 3 years already.
The problem with these franchises is they go and stockpile all this young talent, they pay for their development, they use resources for their development, then 4 years later, when none of them have developed into starting nba players, they tear it down, and repeat the cycle all over again.
Once the Knicks went out and got Julius Randal in free agency, their reign to get back to the playoffs was in progress. Then they went out and got Brunson, a stone cold killer. Then Brunson's college teammate, Josh Hart, a reliable defender and clutch player. RJ Barrett drafted at number 3 didn't turn things around for the knicks. He's in his 4th or 5th year or some shit too, and the guy isn't much. Jeremy Grant is just as good if not better than Barrett. So that team was built in free agency.
Only way the draft means anything is if you actually are lucky and end up drafting a Doncic or Embiid or Curry or someone like that. Anyone else, you can just pic, them up in free agency. And you're better off picking up vets who are at all star level, or else you'll waste years and tons of money trying to develop guys who will never pan out. And why not just pick someone up who has already panned out, who is already a beast?
I could built a winning championship roster so easily with a set budget. Miles Bridges? He needs to be the third best player on a championship team.
Bucks would have never won a championship without signing Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, and most importantly, Jrue Holiday, the most underrated player in the nba of the last two decades.
You saw what happened with the guy they drafted (Malcomb Brogdon). He's nothing compared to Holiday. They didn't want to wait for his development anymore so they shipped him off and got someone who was already developed. And then they won a ring.
Miami put Wade Lebron and Bosh together and went to 4 straight finals. The only guy they drafted was D Wade and Mario Chalmers. Everyone else was a pickup.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

#271^^^ I'm not talking about draft picks, I'm talking about Bridges. He has already proven himself to be versatile offensively and elite defensively. Maybe the next Jimmy Butler, less the baggage.
With picks it's much about who's selecting. Many lottery teams go for the obvious, i.e height & athleticism...Comment -

#274He's a good player but he's not a number 1 on a championship team. If he was then PHX would have never got blown out by Dallas in game 7 last year. It's not like Bridges took a huge step from last year to this year. He's the same player, just getting more shots with the Nets. No elite player in their prime gets swept in the first round of the playoffs. So yeah he's a building block but he's not a number 1, probably not even a number 2.Comment -

#275On a championship team? Butler is a number 2, maybe number 3 even depending on teams that year (like if you have another KD to the warriors situation, butler as a number 2 is not good enough to beat that team). Generally though, he'd be a number 2, in his prime. Obviously his prime is about to be over, and maybe after next year, he'll be pretty much done and will have to be a number 3 at that point. The bubble was a weird scenario obviously for butler to get to the finals. A bunch of great players are gonna retire soon so who knows, maybe Bridges will be a number 2 in 3 years. There aren't gonna be a lot of all time greats in the league in a few years when James and Durant and Curry retire. You'll be left with a lot of the european guys who are offensive wizards but don't player any defense.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

#279I would say the Kings have a chance to win Game 5. Fox out. Who can benefit from those minutes?
Here's my big issue w/ trying the Kings in Game 4. Monk will replace Fox in the starting lineup? I hate Monk.
I've really grown to hate these Kentucky products. I really think it has to do with how loose the Calipari system is at KY. Recruit guys ready to go Pro...how hard can that be?Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -
