Another phenomenal performance from the soon-to-be back-to-back MVP, Nikola "The Joker" Jokic. Thoroughly outclassing Joel Embiid in every sense of the word after dominating him in their H2H matchup. Truly a lock to win his second MVP award. Sensational stuff from Jokic, as always.

This game is exactly why Embiid is the MVP - and its not close.

Jokic was -16 on the court

          Minus 16

He couldn't guard anyone, Markannen had a career night against him

Embiid dominated again on both sides of the court

this race should be over by the end of next week

And Embiid, who has been an all-defensive player 3 times, had 5 steals

Embiid had 5 steals and he was +5 - his team won because he dominated on both sides of the ball has he has all year

            He is the MVP

Jokic getting destroyed for the second straight game, he's -15 on the court and Denver is getting destroyed by Boston. He was negative double digits against Cleveland last game even with Cleveland starting center out.

Its almost over at this point.

              Embiid is the clear MVP.

Embiid is the MVP and he should have won easily, but Doc fuked up the game against Milwaukee and Philadelphia lost by a fluke to Denver at home in a game Embiid dominated Jokic.

Some voters who know nothing about the NBA like Nash get lost in certain meaningless analytics.

Given the great odds I got I will put another hedge in on my original Embiid bet, Jokic to win the MVP -155 (Draftkings)

risking 25 units to win 16.12

Embiid is the MVP but some people who know nothing about basketball that get lost in certain analytics think its Jokic, Doc fuked up the game against Milwaukee and Boney Heyland bailed out Jokic against Denver, a game Embiid dominated Jokic in because he's clearly the better player.

Sounds to me you're looking for excuses why Embid lost.

There are 2 posts here, they are duplicates. The 24 unit risked hedge bet is the only one that will be counted.

Embiid is a far better player than Jokic and he dominated him in the heads up matchup. As I said, Embiid was +10, Jokic was -2.

                            It wasn't close.

Congratulations to the best center in the NBA, Nikola Jokic, on his second consecutive MVP award. The MVP race really pivoted when Nikola Jokic absolutely dominated Joel Embiid in their head-to-head matchup, leading the Nuggets to a crucial win. Congratulations to anyone who bet on Nikola Jokic from the beginning instead of hedging bets on other players after seeing the odds shift.

I got 100 bucks of Jokic at +300
Going to get myself some insurance on the Greek now.
Damn, could have had the Greek at +2200 six weeks ago.

I do think Philly knew what they were getting themselves into with Harden, I think that move was more of a "we need to dump Simmons at any cost" move.

You need to buy a tv. Embiid is clearly the better player than Jokic, he averages almost 5 more points per game and he dominated Jokic in the heads up matchup.

Embiid is an all-time great talent, Jokic is not. Jokic wasn't even the best player on his own team when Denver went to the conference finals.

Embiid is also a 3 time all defensive player, Jokic isn't close to Embiid's level, including on defense.

They took a shot and didn’t really give up anything. Ben is useless. Drummond is gone from nets next year and curry is a huge liability on defense. It was worth a chance I think. So far it looks like it might not work out but we will see and it’s not a trade that destroys the team for years or anything.

The Harden deal will not hurt Philly long-term in anyway, and Harden will likely be healthy and in better shape next year - he will also be in a contract year.
