#492Another phenomenal performance from the soon-to-be back-to-back MVP, Nikola "The Joker" Jokic. Thoroughly outclassing Joel Embiid in every sense of the word after dominating him in their H2H matchup. Truly a lock to win his second MVP award. Sensational stuff from Jokic, as always.Comment -

#494This game is exactly why Embiid is the MVP - and its not close.
Jokic was -16 on the court
Minus 16
He couldn't guard anyone, Markannen had a career night against him
Embiid dominated again on both sides of the court
this race should be over by the end of next weekComment -

#495And Embiid, who has been an all-defensive player 3 times, had 5 steals
Embiid had 5 steals and he was +5 - his team won because he dominated on both sides of the ball has he has all year
He is the MVPComment -

#496Jokic getting destroyed for the second straight game, he's -15 on the court and Denver is getting destroyed by Boston. He was negative double digits against Cleveland last game even with Cleveland starting center out.
Its almost over at this point.
Embiid is the clear MVP.Comment -

#497Embiid is the MVP and he should have won easily, but Doc fuked up the game against Milwaukee and Philadelphia lost by a fluke to Denver at home in a game Embiid dominated Jokic.
Some voters who know nothing about the NBA like Nash get lost in certain meaningless analytics.
Given the great odds I got I will put another hedge in on my original Embiid bet, Jokic to win the MVP -155 (Draftkings)
risking 25 units to win 16.12Comment -

#504Congratulations to the best center in the NBA, Nikola Jokic, on his second consecutive MVP award. The MVP race really pivoted when Nikola Jokic absolutely dominated Joel Embiid in their head-to-head matchup, leading the Nuggets to a crucial win. Embiid is an all-time great talent, Jokic is not. Jokic wasn't even the best player on his own team when Denver went to the conference finals.
Embiid is also a 3 time all defensive player, Jokic isn't close to Embiid's level, including on defense.

#520They took a shot and didn’t really give up anything. Ben is useless. Drummond is gone from nets next year and curry is a huge liability on defense. It was worth a chance I think. So far it looks like it might not work out but we will see and it’s not a trade that destroys the team for years or anything.Originally posted by stevenashI do think Philly knew what they were getting themselves into with Harden, I think that move was more of a "we need to dump Simmons at any cost" move.

#521The guy's on a super-max contract. Of course it sets them back years. It sets Maxey back, Harris... never mind the fact it hamstrings their FA punching power. Morey thought he was getting the Harden he was familiar with, maybe a revitalised Harden.Originally posted by vitterdThey took a shot and didn’t really give up anything. Ben is useless. #523Harden has 1 year left on his deal and its a player option for 47 million, Simmons had 3 years left on his deal. The Harden deal will not hurt Philly long-term in anyway, and Harden will likely be healthy and in better shape next year - he will also be in a contract year.Originally posted by IBetYouThe guy's on a super-max contract.
