Although mocked initially, appears my earlier wish of Phil shifting gears and being a tad more conservative would have at least had him in stronger position right now, he made a horrible decision with his Jacks the 2nd time against QQ. Come on, Phil, you can gamble at the craps table anytime, sharpen up, man.

He's a pro who plays mostly online. Met him through a friend while I was in Vegas in May and we have a drunken agreement to trade poker coaching for sports betting coaching. Oh, and he won an FTOPS event back in May, too.

Yes, David Bach won that. Erik Seidel and Gus Hansen had made the final table.

Ivey's 7 bracelets mean more than Hellmuth's 11 bracelets. Hellmuth can only win at Hold 'Em. Great tournament player but overall he's not as good as some of the other legends.

depends on how you look at it kinger. ivey hasnt won a bracelet in any holdem variations and hellmuth hasnt won any in omaha or stud where ivey has won his bracelets...plus ivey hasnt won the main event. hellmuth has around 10 or so high cashes in omaha events and a few in stud. i just dont think he plays in as many events. you know he is a weirdo about being fully meditated and shit for the main event.
by the way....ivey is ballin the fukk outta control. i dont think he is worth the 100mil that fishhead thinks, but im sure its over 60/70mil. i still love this picture with shit all over the floor...he could care less

they say, and all the other big money players concur, that ivey is one of the largest winners in the "big game" and they estimate he has around 30-35 million liquid from cash games. his stake in fulltilt if sold is probably the same.

Right, Ivey hasn't won a WSOP poker tournament in hold 'em. He's won a fair share of other hold 'em tournaments. And he's more a cash player, anyway...which is far more impressive. Yet, he has won bracelets in Omaha and Stud (like you said) so that tells me he's the best all-around player.
And most of Hellmuth's bracelets were when the WSOP tournaments weren't as popular...smaller fields.
Plus, Ivey's won more bracelets than anyone else at his age.

i dont disagree he is the best all around player. his cash game skill are crazy good...funny how a lot of times the players with the biggest bankrolls end up winning the most. i wasnt talking about outside of the world series tournaments. you just said that his wsop bracelets meant more. i disagree because he has won those bracelets in events with much smaller fields (except the 2500/5000 pl omaha events) than in the bigger holdem events that attract the majority of players. did that make any sense? kinger, ive been drinking. it is wednesday ya know. anyways, we can agree that ivey is the best overall cash game poker player in the world.
sending you a pm in a minute kinger

Should be noted that Phil usually wins the odd or large buy in events where less overall entrants, whereas Hellmuth specializes in NLHE and finds a way to win the huge and small fields alike.

none of these guys are as big time as warren buffett, bill gates, these types of guys
most gamblers, poker or otherwise, die broke and never seem to pass on their wealth for generations
a legacy, most gamblers never leave a great one, let alone a good one

Cada Check-Raises Ivey
Joe Cada opened for 620,000 and Phil Ivey called from the hijack seat. Ivey led out for 800,000 on the flop and was met with a raise from Cada to 2.1 million. Ivey tanked for about three minutes before folding. "Ship it baller hollers!" shouted an inebriated fan from the lounge (it's actually Holla Ballas, dude). Cada took his stack back up to 13.2 million with that pot.

Begs' Bet Wins
Steve Begleiter raised to 600,000 and got two callers in James Akenhead and Phil Ivey. The flop was checked around. The turn came the and Begleiter's 1.8 million bet took it down.
