#111Is a 4 shot lead at the US Open a big lead given how hard it is to get birdies?
Seems like Dustin could coast on the weekend and win.Comment -

#113Yeah, I agree it's pretty big and he's really good. Should be odds-on favorite. Hard to coast on this course though because if it somehow goes bad it can go really bad in a hurry.Comment -

funny how you hear about players complaining how unfair the course is... but halfway through a player is sitting at 4 under......Comment -

#117Seriously, they made a Local Rule because there are pebbles and rocks in the sand trap. I get it, you deal with the environment the course is created in, but the traps are completely man made.
There's just no excuse, and to have the US Open there? The USGA should have prepared better, don't you think?
And at that - wouldn’t a special rule regarding “loose impediment” settle that particular critique?Comment -

#118Dustin Johnson has shot 7 consecutive rounds in the 60s. He's never done that in his pro career before. That's why I'm hesitant to take him now. He's at -150, and it just feels like the law of averages will catch up to him and he'll have a bad round in Round 3. Someone will go low and it'll be close on Sunday.
-150...I just don't like that price.Comment -

-150...I just don't like that price.
But in this particular situation it really is a toss up. This is either the blowout it's shaping to be or DJ just falls off.
It's very possible that -145/-150 is the best price we see for DJ for the remainder of the tourney. If I didn't have him at +875, I'd feel the need to pay the -150.
The more and more we keep stacking improbable factors like the previous winner never repeating, DJ's previous US Open and previous tourney rounds, etc. the more that -150 in the company of such big odds may do it's job of steering bettors away.
And that means the likelihood of Johnson winning goes up.
That's just the behavior of the golf markets.Comment -

#123Previous winner not repeating is because of so many great golfers. He by far is better then all right now. I'd be shocked if he doesn't win.Comment -

i thought i said this but i dont read pages back
mike davis comes on tv to say toughest test of golf...no its most unfair test in the world
you cannot hit a shot 15ft long of pin like justin rose did at 7 yesterday, end up 30 yards away and chipping (he did manage par)
but same goes for fowler on 18 yesterday when he fukkin hit the green, rolled back and had 38 yd pitch and bogeys
and trust me usga officials are the worstComment -
