Nice call on PC Dom. Xavier reminds me a lot of Sparty. Loads of talent but at times I think their depth works against them. Think both teams could be on upset alert early in the tourney depending on who they play.

Nova is head and shoulders above everyone when they are healthy, and it isn't even close imo. Unless they have an off shooting night or get in foul trouble, they are winning it all.

Okay so let’s post all my championship futures I have open from throughout the season. I’m in for 4.45x total, so I would lose that if none of my horses win it all. The units next to each team is net profit if they win.

You have futures bets that wouldn’t even net you profit? What is the point of that?

As you can see from my futures, I’m high on Nova & MSU. I fill out several brackets not just one. In the Final Four the teams I like include Villanova, MSU, Duke, KU, Gonzaga, Cincy, Tennessee, UVA
Don’t see Virginia winning it all; some team will get hot from 3 and shoot lights out over the pack line defense and Virginia won’t keep up. Duke has the talent to win it all but I don’t see them playing smart enough for 6 straight games to do so. Xavier has an excellent backcourt but such a weak defense and matchup prone problems in front court.

I don’t see a dark horse winning it all. I guess I could see maybe a couple dark horse Final Four potentials like Mizzou or Texas A&M or Wichita State maybe.

The Duke future is like insurance I guess. Maybe the way I wrote it is funny. I would win 4.5units on Duke, but I’d lose 4.5units on those other futures. No I get that they are multipliers. I just don’t see the value in tying up money in futures with minimal return. Good luck though. Villanova at 28/1 is excellent. I assume that was before the season but even that seems high.

Dom, the key for brackets that you won't hear people talk about is: Who has the easiest road to the Elite 8? I recall in the past Duke had such cake walk setups to just win 1 game to go to the Final Four it was criminal. How can you take that over other teams that get real though challenges (like your MSU and Duke) just to get to the regional final?

I find that Kansas might have that easiest road to the Elite 8 of anyone. I also find that the two best teams (I consider them and most everyone in the country does too, d'oh) Virginia and Villanova, have very tough 8-4-5 seeds in their upper brackets, with lesser teams I believe lower in the 2-3 portions. Apart from Gonzaga being a real strong who is probably better than Xavier, the UK/Arizona and WVU/WSU for UVA and Nova respectively is brutal. Add in Va Tech for Nova and it's almost criminal since those are the top 2 seeds overall.

I really don’t think Villanova’s road is THAT tough.

Also see the Zags path clearly laid out in their favor.

Kansas has the best 16 seed ever, then a tough 8/9 matchup, followed by an easy 3rd round, then finally an elite 8 matchup against several NBA players (on Duke or MSU).
