California man tricked out of $200K in scam
A California man says he lost $200,000 of his family’s savings in an alleged scam that’s so bizarre -- it’s hard to imagine that anyone could fall for it. But he did. They wine and dined him lol.

I don't understand how he lost money. His only asset in this transaction is the restaurant itself, and he is the one who was supposed to get $200,000. So even if the money is fake, don't these dudes currently own the restaurant? They sold the restaurant and disappeared that quickly?

He's not totally out of his 200k. One of those buyers is Nigerian Prince. All this guy will have to do is deposit a 500k international check and then transfer 300k to the prince's royal family.

That’s why we are all saying how stupid the guy is

So I am going to send you a cashiers check for full price— plus 1300 for shipping. You cash the check, and send 1300 to my American shippers via w s t r n union and my shippers will come get the car within the week and they will ship it to me.

You cash the check, nobody comes to get the car and the bank catches the check as fraud before it clears. They have made the funds available, and you have already sent the 1300 to the scammer. And you are on the hook for that 1300, not the bank.

                                                                      Or....
