Maddon said Jake Game 4 no matter. Bigger question is what if he starts and he pitches an inning or two ad then it's postponed until tomorrow. Can't imagine he'd still continue tomorrow after throwing a number of pitches. Then the question is whether he would go to Lackey or move up Hendricks and then Lester if needed.

In the regular season its the home team not the umps that decide if they play or not. Then once the first pitch is thrown its all up to the umps as far as delays go.

Not sure if its different for the playoffs.

Cubs obviously would want to play today, but they would be better off not playing at all than playing a couple innings. Unless they are banking on putting up a bunch of runs early vs Roark.

Quick Question....This was always the 5:30pm EST scheduled game. Why not make every game time TBD....If fans are going to come to a playoff baseball game they should be taking the day off from work. Why the hell would they have not just started this game a long time ago? Weather was fine early and it is not like there was any travel..

Of course, the game can’t be called in the middle no matter what, as Bud Selig decided back in 2008. So if the teams decide they’re starting this shindig tonight no matter what, it can’t end at only six or seven innings — they’ll have to wait the rain out or play the leftover innings on Wednesday. Which isn’t ideal.

i would bet the opposite. did you see the radar. the storm has come and gone in peoria in about 3 hours...........it will hit chicago in an hour and then be gone at 8:45eastern
