What a picture. Howard had one slip of the tongue, but goes down as a legend.

The other two? One guy lost his mind + used a knife. The other guy lost his mind + switched sides.

The game didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, but the opening of the broadcast was pure excellence. Nothing like summarizing the history of their rivalry with Joe Garagiola narrating and the Raiders of The Lost Ark theme playing in the background. They don't do broadcasts like this anymore.

KLC, did u ever play Table-top baseball?

I know a lot of guys liked Strat-o-Matic + APBA. I was a Pursue the Pennant guy. Thought it was a little more sophisticated...but not perfect.

I was an electronic baseball game guy. I had the brown Mattell game and then and oversized desktop stadium game. It was the bomb until the battery acid from the D batteries killed it.

Not treading on your thread, but 50 years ago this week Billy Martin as Twins manager on cover of SI. Never understood why MN didnt keep guy. Guy just kept winning and winning.

Not treading on your thread, but 50 years ago this week Billy Martin as Twins manager on cover of SI. Never understood why MN didnt keep guy. Guy just kept winning and winning.

He was just one of those guys that always wore out his welcome after a couple of seasons. MLB Network had a great documentary on him. He did a great job of initially turning around a team's fortunes, but ownership would always grow tired of him.
