What black drug dealers and prostitutes do you know on welfare? I know several and none of them are on welfare. 1 kid I used to coach is one of the biggest pill distributors in the state. He is very, very far from welfare. I know several black dancers as well and they wouldn't even think of collecting welfare.

I volunteered at a soup kitchen many, many years ago in St. Pete, Fla. It was an eye opener and a very humbling experience. It would break your heart to see a woman with several kids with no place to live because the husband abused her and kicked them out. Families living on the streets not sure where they can get their next meal. I met many veterans that risked their lives fighting in war for us but could not get a job back at home. They were proud to serve their country but their country abandoned them. How can a veteran with a purple heart be hungry? That is awful and should never happen in this country. But, there are too many people (many in this thread) that think an army vet with 1 or no legs should be able to take care of themselves. That they need to pull themselves up from their bootstraps, when they don't have any limbs to pull up because they were blown off by a land mine. We have an obligation to take care of our own.

I've seen the prison, setup wonderfully and exactly how prison should be; miserable.

and if we are being honest that prison is still too nice for them compared to arpaio's prison. If a prisoner can achieve even a "crappy" night of sleep then the prison is still too nice. Every night should be a living hell that they have nightmares about in the future. Of course, that is if you want to actually fix the problem which is why prisons, the political class and their sheepy pet liberals would never allow it.

Kermit - where do you get that the perps were black? There is nowhere that says what color the lady or the thieves were. I did see a black lady who was an eyewitness that tried to help at the scene. So what's your point? People of all shapes, colors, etc., are opportunist and thieves. That area of town could have been Hispanic, black, white or Asian. This just points to how desperate people really are. Do you think if the thieves were well off economically or had plenty of food at home that they would steal groceries? When I was young, my sister and I were eating outside of a KFC in Cleveland. A real skinny black kid maybe a few years older than us came up to us and was just staring. It was very weird. All of a sudden he grabs my sister's chicken and takes off running. I was about to go run after him but I was most likely too young to do anything anyway. My mom was in the car in the parking lot and didn't even see it happen. When we told her, she commented that imagine how hard that kid has it if he had to resort to stealing a half eaten piece of chicken. My anger for him turned to pity. I was very sad just thinking about that kid and what his life must have been. It really bothered me for several days.

The bigger point should be why the mom was not wearing her seat belt? And how could she have small kids in the back seat without baby seats? I don't care what color she was, that is messed up.

and to answer your question. It really depends where you crash your car. Chances are if you are in a disadvantaged neighborhood, with a lot of opportunist, it doesn't matter what color. If you are in a well to do area, something as simple as groceries aren't worth it to most people. But you better believe people steal in Beverly Hills too.
