    lol that is so true. I dunno why that is. I guess when youre betting scared immediately fade your selection.

        INteresting thread slicker. I was thinking about this same topic recently after watching anthony bourdain's 'No Reservations'. The episode was based in vegas and this old timer dealer brought that up....he pretty much said you have to have the mindset, that you are going to lose all of your money, and that you are just playing for entertainment reasons.

          I've been thinking about this alot lately.....


          good handicapping, picking, coin flipping, whatever you wanna call it outside of computers and systems.... can't occur naturally....


          the stress of losing $ or needing to win money changes the brain chemistry

                Thanks slicker,that brought back memories of my Dad.That was one of the first things he taught me at the track back in the sixties,some sayings pass the test of time.

                  "scared" is an emotion.

                  Reason always trumps emotion.

                  Become a calculating, cold blooded, heartless soul and then the money will flow to you.

                  But is it worth it, to become emotionless? Yes, but you've gotta balance it with outside life. Emotionless in the trenches of the daily grind, but give those emotions a chance to ooze out in a different venue. Balance is key.
