True, but if you only plan on holding for a month, you can buy and sell before the juice comes due assuming it's not a cash advance. Personally I would't put it on a credit card either way, but just saying it's not out of the realm of possibility of not breaking the bank.

This makes a lot of sense to me. There won't be a big need for very many cryptocurrencies for payment transactions. Some of the alternatives might prove better then BTC in terms of speed or fees. They would have a chance of surviving, but the world won't be interested in a large number of currencies ala Europe before the Euro.

ICOs used for raising money works, but unlike stocks it's difficult to see an ongoing demand. With stocks, at least I understand the company behind them.

Finally, as far as investing in a particular coin because of belief that it has a better underlying technology, be careful . Remember my history lesson about Fortran, COBOL, and PL/1.

sell some btc to eth? or ltc? I see btc round 12k at the end of this year, eth round 550 and ltc somewhere over 120 so whichever % entices you the most. more volatility in the others, but biggest market cap is in btc so its most likely the safest of the 3, just a matter of what you're looking to do.

Ltc and btc run similarly, just a matter of whether or not they can market it correctly to get institutional money in it. I personally think eth has the most potential in the next year, but am certainly not saying that the others are not great options aiming for a portfolio of 50% btc, 30% eth, 10% ltc 10% alt coins by next year. Not that you asked, just lending my .02

You were actually correct the first time. It's something someone on the internet made up and everyone agreed it had value. It does not exist on a hard drive anywhere.
Dollars are kind of similar. They are just pieces of paper someone printed up and everyone agreed they have value.

I got 2 shares of litecoin at 80.13 on Thursday. Trying to get 10-15 shares in next couple of months obviously at various prices. Paying for a wedding and trying to get involved in this at same time isn't fun haha
