I remember similar discussions popping up when Obama ran in '08. People hid behind complaints about Obama the person or the candidate, when really, they just didn't want to see a black president.

No doubt some people are secretly against a female for President, but it's likely no more than a small minority of voters who probably wouldn't vote for a Democrat anyways. Is it possible that people are voting against Clinton because they don't want a woman, or that people are voting against Trump because they don't want an orange guy? Sure, but considering how much their is to dislike about both of them, it's far simpler and probably more accurate to believe that people are voting against these terrible candidates because they're terrible candidates.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out, but I fully expect the vast majority of voters today to choose poorly because they're scared of another candidate (and because of their ignorance regarding better candidates who are also running).
