if you are going to make money selling scrap metal you don't need to be looking for iron and steel. most places will not even buy that

you need to look for aluminum, copper, etc.
you can also sell electric motors, batteries (like car, boat, etc.).
most of the time, it's not worth the time and effort unless you have a big load of something.
