Kidney stones are a result of a poor diet and lifestyle. Main causes are not drinking enough fluids, not eating enough fruits and vegetables daily, excessive sodium, and/or a high-protein diet. My guess is that your diet is high in processed foods (which contain large amounts of sodium), lower in fruits and vegetables, and you don't drink enough water.

I had kidney stones before. I was told that is was from drinking store bought pre mixed Iced-T. Ever since I cut back from about a gallon every 2 days to about a gallon every 2 weeks, I haven't had any more problems. I also drink a lot of juice now.

I was also told that if you have hard water and drink from your faucet without a filter that can cause stones to build up as well.

Some people's Kidneys filter things differently than others. Many people have stones in their Kidneys and never know it until they break free, then they know it.

Kidney Stone.

Motherfukker. I've never felt anything close to that kind of pain. It literally felt like someone was stabbing me in the kidney with a fukking knife.

Doc said blood in the urine & CT scan showed the stone. That was the good news. Bad news is it hasn't passed yet. He said that's not going to be pleasant at all. He actually mentioned the Seinfeld episode where Kramer passed one. Said its a lot like that.

I had a kidney stone a few days before world cup. Was driving to town and all the sudden realized my back was in crazy pain and getting worse. By time I got to hospital and CT scan I had already passed it.

After getting home from the ER yesterday morning, I haven't really had anymore pain. At least nothing even close to what I experienced yesterday morning. I've been drinking LOTS of water, and I've been pissing like a racehorse. I'm taking my Lasix (FloMax), and peeing in my strainer. But so far....nada. I feel pretty much normal. Even went out and played catch with my kid late yesterday evening.

Doc said it may take a few days, so who knows? I'm just going to do my regular thing and see when it happens. Haven't even taken a norco yet. Want to save them for when I actually need them.

Just plan on doing normal stuff today. Not gonna lie around all day waiting for something bad. Piss on it (pun intended).

Had Lithotripsy myself,that is painless,they'll send you home w/Flomax & pain meds.
Very important to start meds right away.Took me about 5 days to pass the stones which are broken up into very small pieces with this procedure.

Trust me, brother. No one talks more shit about people being in pain than I have, but what I had yesterday morning was truly the only time I've ever been completely incapacitated due to pain. I'm not bullshitting. I literally couldn't move off the floor. It was all I could do to finally get some shorts on to have my wife drive me to the hospital. Never seen anything like it.

I hope that was the worst of it. Don't even want to think about it if it wasn't.
