Although the Vegas line & the records indicate that this are two evenly matched teams playing in a coin toss, I believe that Ottawa was only able to score goals vs. Detroit last night because the refs gave them several 5 on 3 opportinities.
Only one goal in the Carolina/Boston game was scored at even strength. Carolina has only scored more than 3 goals once this entire season in a 4-3 win over the Islanders. The only team in the Eastern Conference with less offense than Carolina is the Buffalo Sabres, who are at the bottom of the league with 11 points. I don't know if the Sens are starting Anderson or Lehner but, I don't think it matters. Lehner played on Saturday, meaning Anderson will likely get the start against Carolina. Lehner had 34 saves off 36 shots which is impressive in my eyes. The Hurricanes are just 5-for-51 on home power-play opportunities, while the Senators are 10-for-37 with the man advantage on the road.
I like Ottawa to beat the Cannes but also expect a low scoring affair.
Defenseman Erik Karlsson, who leads the team with 24 points, has six of those on his five-game streak. Clarke MacArthur has three goals and five points in the last three games. Goaltender Anton Khudobin remains out with a lower-body injury but has been practicing with the team, while Justin Peters is likely to start today's game.
I like all the other picks on Baby Gap's sheet with the exception of the sens to score 3 or more goals. I hope they do but, it would only be a small lean for me at +107.
Stick with Ottawa Senators today & you can't go wrong. Take that under 5.5 to make some more cash today.
