If you saw the substitution, rafael was dog-tired as he sprinted off. You need energy in the last 10 minutes. Rafael in a scoring position would have been compromised because he wouldn't even be able to breathe. Watch the substitution you can see him gasping after sprinting off.

Change had to be made or you lose any chance of pushing forward fast.

Soccer suffers the same problem as basketball...the referee weilds FAR too much sway...and can easily "steer" any game--intentionally or subconsciously--by what he calls and doesn't call.

Awarding undeserved Red Cards and Penalty Kicks...or...Failing to Award Deserved Ones...effectively "nuke" a game (the lion's share of important ones being within-one-goal affairs).

In basketball, we've all seen what happens when a referee has some sort of "agenda"...since most important games are within a few points it only takes a few off-centre calls to send a game careening down tainted highway.

No intent to injure, should have been a yellow if anything.

Red was harsh, intent wasn't there.

I started a thread last June about Cakir and cards.
They just have to find better referees for these big matches. This guy is just crazy with the cards, the turkish league is wide open but this is ridiculous.

That is a red card. It is dangerous play and could have harmed the player, it doesnt matter if it was intentional or not, its weather its deemed to be dangerous - it looks like a karate kid kick ffs.
