#1692I think the DOS attacks were a big part of it too. Plus Jon ended up giving out probably hundreds of freeplays because they were down. I turned mine into 975, and cashed out the next week. How many people destroyed them with those freeplays?Comment -

#1696That just shows the mentality of the average poster on forums, not all but probably most. Many posters know my posting style and my sarcasm and the way I do things. It's crazy that not one person ever questioned SSLP posting as Jon and then him denying it and Shawn changing his name. Not one person stopped to think about that. You might as well donated money to charity , you would of felt better about it. People's thinking is crazy on forums and they are caught up in good bonuses and fast payouts from a posting name and a forum book. You gotta be out of your mind if you look at the facts and never saw this coming.
SBR poster SSLP is Jon aka wager chief shawn.

#1699All in good fun man, I don't take any of this to heart. I just know something isn't right and it's common sense when you have name changes and people denying you were someone else when it comes down to business you can guarantee its not for positive reasons.המוסד

#1705Why didn't SBR know about BI's financial standing, up until this morning? They were only downgraded AFTER wtt blew the lid on BI, SSLP. Why wasn't any action taken prior to that, though there were signs and murmurings from players about how their funds were being locked up.
Add to it SBR and SSLP's continual denial, then finally acceptance, of BI's takeover of EZStreetsports. Neither SBR nor BI were upfront about the whole deal.
Finally, Bill Dozer revealed yesterday that Jon, aka SSLP, wasn't the owner of BI. Yet some time ago, another SBR moderator, Justin7, posted that Jon was the owner at BI.

#1710This is not even touching upon SBR's rating. Let us remember that SBR had WSEX rated an 'A', before they stole player funds and bailed.
So there's two scenarios that I see here:
1. SBR had zero knowledge of what was going on at BI, were mislead by the book at first and after, and had no clue about BI's financial standing. They gave them a 'B' rating based on what they had been told, instead of what they found out/researched. Which would put SBR's ratings about other books under a huge cloud of uncertainty, because we can only assume they used the same barometers to rate these books as they did with BI.
2. SBR knew what was going on at BI, continued to receive kick-backs and advertising money, and only downgraded and turned against the book when some 3rd party revealed what was going on. So SBR knew the book was in trouble, didn't inform the players about it, and only took action after it was certain that players would lose money.
Either way, it seems SBR f*cked over their own posters/customers, who will now pay the price for trusting the "industry watch-dog".Comment -

We are warning all of our players, that BetIslands Sportsbook is no longer solvent. Player are estimated to loss balances, in the amount of 1.5 million dollars.
SBR REPORTED - Betislands Is Officially Done
We finally talked with everyone involved. Unfortunately this looks like it is about to end badly for players. This came to be because BI lost it's financial backer and the people left could not make it . READ MORE
If you are an active player, with *************** and had funds in your accounts, contact us by email, with your Bet Island account ID, and Balance.Comment -

People are getting caught up in a lot of semantics. It is irrelevant whether Jon owned the book. The only thing that matters is whether you have a financial backer that can withstand 4 straight weeks of public wins and a run on cashout requests. If a book cannot establish beyond the shadow of a doubt that they have more in the bank than they owe their players, they should not be given a B rating here. That should be one of the policy changes going forward, among other things.Comment -
