Usually contests like this are won by someone who goes on a winning streak at the right time. May as well roll the dice. The contest format that most rewards skill is the 256 head to head one. No lucky streak needed.

To win anything you have to get hot, NBA playoffs, PGA tournament, Super Bowl, etc. they key is improving your odds, a dude who picks at a 60% clip is more likely to go on a run then the guy who picks at a 48% clip.
Just like SFTC, it's a lot of luck, but skill improves your chances.

As I said, no lucky streak needed (you had one and it got you nowhere). Those contests, more than any other, reward consistency.

I think I was pretty consistent in that tournament lol. Just ran into a guy got 21 units when I got 20 in one week. Won't turn it into a big thing, but luck plays a huge part in those bracket contests. Its all about who you play, when you play them and how well they do that week.

That was the 2nd place finisher, he was consistently average, yet played the right people at the right time.

I see your point though in theory the most consistent capper will go deep because you don't have to be "on" every week. But there is still luck involved like any other SBR contest.
