Shouldn't allow teams. That would cut down on the entrants. If you want to play, man up and send all the points yourself.

Nearly a full month between the time the contest was announced and the deadline to enter. Not difficult to come up with 2,500 points in a month if someone really wants to play.

Just silly seeing the same few guys on every team.

fair enough, and if i were running the contest i would say 2 teams max per person or something like that, just so that someone isn't pretty much guaranteed a victory by joining every team.

but the rules are the rules, hard to criticize people for taking advantage of them, since i'm doing the same thing. even if i had 5000 points right now i would probably do 10 different 10% entries and 1 100% entry.

I'd guess $5000 is worth about 100k in points... Add that to the 50k and 25k for second and third respectively and the total pot is 175k.

175k / 2.5k = 70 entries worth in the pot

Add in juice, store markup, and other variables. I'd say anything under 50 entrants is definitely +EV.
