ok.. obvious a wrong call on Carolina. Wow!.. Brown looks like Jimmy Brown against this terrible Carolina defensive front. I completed missed on that defensive front seven. I'll tell you though, when Coughlin needs a win, the Giants come out loaded for bear. That you have to give them.

I will take Carolina though for the second half line at a 5* play.

John, looking forward to your picks this weekend. There are quite a few interesting games i'm considering better on...kc/no, cincy/wash, det/tenn. I know the Lions have had a rough start but I just don't see how Tennessee can keep up on the scoring front this weekend. Also, I'm really liking cincy this week. The Washington defense has some huge holes to fill and with Garcon out, they're going to have to rely on RG3 once again to keep them close. I think Washington's secondary (mostly fill-ins) will have a heck of a time containing AJ Green and I see BGE continuing his recent success in the run game. Thoughts?

I actually think Vikings +points is the way to go this week, not sure they win outright though. I really like eagles to cover this week and NO to have a big first win at home against the chiefs. Slight lean on Detroit as well. I think Dallas wins at home after a horrible week 2 but not sure they cover +8. Any thoughts in Totals this week John?

Truth be told, I love the 49ers, plain and simple. I hope they win, but their is no hope or heart with betting on sports if you intend on making money. Laugh. Many a bettor goes with their heart and we all know the result.

This is a tough assignment for the 49ers. Unless Peterson just does nto show up, which I cannot imagine, this will be a hotly contested game.

In hindsight, I don't know if I would have added more risk already having another 10* going tonight on a slight dog in NE. Great question though.

Actually is a coincident statistical phenomenon if all dogs or all favorites end up winning. Each game result is mutually exclusive all other games. But, the dogs are on a roll for sure.

did not know of any issues, but it could be a broad band issue with everyone waiting till the last 10 minutes.. I can only suggest placing them 6 hours minimum in advance. I have found that even late line movements have not affected my results.

Dallas got what they needed and now can use this momentum to build in the weeks ahead. Eagles were horrid on both sides of the ball and the Ariizona double-trap defense caused problems for the Patriots and completely dismantled the Eagles offense. This is a team with a new confident defense that should not be discounted.

Dogs on the year are 28-18-1. Thats unreal. Also I noticed there will be 2 or 3 double digit dogs next week. Great week again John and can't wait to see your pick for tomorrow. Guessing the sharps are on Seattle though as the line hasn't moved much.

Great day John, hope you're on the Packers. GB will need to start fast and make Wilson throw it at least 30+ times. Wilson has the fewest QB attempts in the league among starting QB's because of Lynch and the running game. GB's defense came alive last week because of some personnel changes at corner and safety, it obviously worked and I see it continuing against the Seahawks vanilla scheme. Drops have been drive killers for GB's offense with Finley being the biggest culprit, not many 9,10, and 11+ drives for GB's offense this year. Teams are playing cover 2 man under and giving up stuff underneath against them daring them to throw deep and run it against 4 man fronts. I see Seattle doing the same, but with the extra time off, have a feeling GB's offense is sitting on a sharp effort; we'll see.

I think Seattle will have great success on offense tonight. The Packers have established their rotation and personnel for given situations. They will be forced to play man -coverage far more tonight as they have to respect the Seattle running game. Packers love to use press coverage in man situations to disrupt the timing of the plays. However, they can't do that tonight and risk getting burned on play action given the athleticism of the Seattle receivers.

so, with all of the talk about the Packers being able to disrupt QB Russell Martin and his inexperience at the NFL level, the matchups play into his strengths. With the Packers having to play off the LOS, it will open up high percentage hot reads for Martin to execute. 7 yard pass routes will dominate the first half in the Seattle offensive scheme. Martin will look to identy where LB Mathews is located on the field and then check the safeties. It will be unlikely that the Packers defense can show varying looks and be able to confuse Martin because he is executing simple quick 2-3 step drop pass routes.
