Second half.. I absolutely see what Detroit is doing in squeezing and pinching the linebackers in the middle of the field. Saints do not possess any threat outside the numbers. The first game was closer than the fina score indicated and now Stafford has all the confidence in the world. The Lions are stuffing the middle of the LOS and Saints running game has been reduced by half since they are trailing, albeit by just four points. The Half time line of +7 1/2 Detroit is warranting a 5* play so go for it.

Saints made numerous adjustments in the second quarter and Lions defense was a step ahead and that was a huge FOUR point play at the the end of the half for the Lions. I am willing to add the 5* play to the 3* Money line play knowing I may lose an 8* amount plus the 'under' . Based on what i saw the in the first half, this is game for Detroit to win period.

Presently, the Lions/Broncos parlay is looking quite rewarding .. still along way to go. and I agree with you Denver can win that game and as I said it my be a new star tomorrow in Brady Quinn, who has the tools, but was never given a real chance... not with a team that has a tenacious defense like the broncos.

I think you will see Detroit go to a ni-huddle at some point during the third quarter. Saints defensive front looked gassed in that last Lions possession.. reps and more reps... let's see what happens.

Anybody notice William Hill has Saints -3 1/2 -110 and the others are at 7 or 7 1/2 ? wondering if anyone has both accounts and elected to play an a very tasty
'middle'. I do not know much about William Hill, but I have seen their half time lines consistently off the majority. Perhaps opportunity awaits there as well.

I could not have been more wrong after the stating the Saints would not have any 'outside-the-numbers' threat. Every big pass was completed in that region. I will be back later this morning with Sunday's play(s) and the updated record.

Brent Grimes for the Falcons has been declared inactive. he was listed as probable and is a strong cornerback. I need to really take a close look here as this is major injury news that will cause line movement in my opinion. This line may go as high as four points now by game time and perhaps the total will move a touch higher as well.

Dominique Franks 2nd round draft pick out of Oklahoma has been holding it down since the Grimes injury. Probably their best CB after Grimes. I do not rate Robinson to high especially in Cover 2 scheme. Franks and Robinson are both press cover guys. ATL needs to let these guy play today and lock up Nicks and Cruz...Zone is necessary against the Pack and Saints but Giants??? not sure.

john i know u dont really get into player props very much, but could you please give me an opinion on michael turner total yardage Over 77.5 at +100??

im thinking he gets the ball alot today and with even 1 20+ yard run could accomplish this Over rather easily

If atl falls behind early he may not get enough touches to go over

agree( as with any prop on rb needing to get Over) but i dont see that happening...for atlanta to win this game they KNOW it goes through turner having a big game...i just think there is value there, but havent made any decisions yet

I would agree on the 'over' Michael Turner rushing yards. Is there one for combined yards? I would prefer that one even more.

dont see a combined...but now turner Over 77.5 is +135, im taking that just cause i think at that long a price its worth a small shot...thanks for your insight john...much appreciated

I agree 100%.. I know there are rumors out there that Falcons will throw and throw more and more, but that goes against some fundamental football principles and away from the Falcons strength

Have you all been watching the Steeler line plummet? There are 4 1/2's now appearing.. Steelers at -4? other than Pittsburgh is banged up which is OLD news is there any other news out there showing why this line is dropping? Based the casinos I monitor, the sharps may be th eone's pushing this line.. still near 70% of all best in the Steelers and that number has risen since this morning with the line dropping.
