I think I am taking Bears, waiting to see how day games go.
I don't think the Bears/Giants Game is a Trap

#107This is no doubt a tough game to call, but to me it comes down to this; the Bears for all practical purposes could very easily be 0-3. They are not a very good 3-0 team. At the end of the day, I'm putting my money on the better QB at home here. The Giants receivers are vastly superior to the Bears and if they can just hold on to the damn ball once in awhile, they should score early and often.Comment -

#108The fact that Tom Coughlin's job is on the line
has influenced the spread.
The guy won a Superbowl 3 yrs ago and the facts are the Giants
lost a lot of players and their talent is too young.
It's unfair that Coughlin could lose his job
Bears will roll tonight.
Giants finish last in the NFC East this year.Comment -

#109This comes down to this for me. On paper the Giants jerseys can beat the Bears jerseys at home all the time. Do the Giants have the healthy and skillful personnel to beat the Bears by more than 4 points and cover the spread? I seriously doubt it.Comment -

#110I think a lot of people were picking them 3rd behind the Packers and Vikings. I didn't see see many picking the Lions ahead of them though and definetly didn't see anyone picking them as worst in NFC. I think alot of those predictions were based off Fav'ruh not missing a beat from last year and Bears not getting their offense on track during a winless preseason.Originally posted by LT ProfitsThree weeks ago, a lot of people were picking the Bears to finish last in the NFC North and some were calling them the worst team in the NFC.
Three weeks later, they are suddenly world beaters just because they are 3-0?
Not to mention this is a terrible scheduling spot for them, playing on a short week after an emotional division upset win over their biggest rivals.
Just sayin'
I think making predictions from last season and meaningless preseason games are futile. It's obvious their offense can work and their defense works much better with a healthy Urlacher and Peppers.
They may not be world beaters but their not playing the 85 Bears on the road tonight. Just Sayin.
Good point on the let down spot though after big division win.Comment -

#111Originally posted by rhymenocerousBesides, the Bears have beaten what are considered to be two of the best teams in the NFC (if not THE two best teams) back to back weeks (one on the road). How is it just hype at this point??
The Giants have beaten one of the worst teams in the league, gotten destroyed by one of the best, and were dominated at home by a pretty average team.
Maybe this is EXACTLY why the Giants might win. Bears are dead tired from 2 tough games. Giants are very due for a win.........especially at home. I think I am staying away from this one. So far this week, I am 2 for 2 on picks and awaiting Miami to win SU tomorrow night.Comment -

#115Yeah, in large part because:Originally posted by THE PROFITthe bears were outgained by over 100 yards last week & didnt win that game, Green Bay lost it!!!
a. they ran a lot more plays because the bears 1. scored on special teams and 2. got better field position because of special teams. Special teams counts, but doesn't in 'total yards'; and
b. penalties don't count in total yards, but they are not accidental, much of that is forced by a team winning in the trenches.

Green Bay lost again today to the Lions except the Lions declined to accept the win. lmao
That's why the Bears win tonight. They simply want it more.Comment -

#118After I took a quick look at the Bears stats this season it seems like the only reason they are winning games is because they stopped the run against three weak running teams. I doubt they will be able to handle Bradshaw and the possibility of a breakout from Jacobs. I think the line is right on here, but I think I'm going to lean Bears +3 1/2 and the U. I see a lot of sloppy playing keeping the ball at mid-field for most of the game.Comment -

#119I don't understand why the public is hammering the Giants. Yes it's a must win game for NY, but lets get real here, this team just isn't very good, and won't make the postseason regardless of what happens tonight... Not to mention the players can't be too confident in their coaching staff with rumours of them being on thin ice. If I was betting this I would take the points and ride the hot team (the Bears). Until Cutler reverts back to a turnover machine and the calls stop going their way, the Bears will continue to roll.Comment -

#123what about when the 6-0 broncos got thumped as an underdog against the ravens?Originally posted by dynamite140Normally i see this is a trap game with Giants laying 4 points at home and playing horrible against the Bears. Most people would quickly jump on the Bears quicking getting 4 points whereas other more experienced players will take the Giants -4. If i had to choose, i normally take the Giants here. However, there are a few things that are a bit concerning. The line has went from -3 to -4 and most people would take the Bears because they are undefeated.
But there were 2 situations last year that were very similar. It was the Denver Broncos who were I think... 4-0 playing against the Chargers who were 2-2 and Chargers laying 3 points with -125 juice. I think many people said Denver was a fraud and that Chargers would beat them easily even though Broncos were undefeated. However, most normal joes would take broncos with their undefeated record and getting points. I mean it looked too easy to take Denver because of their record and chargers were not doing so well and had to lay points. What happened? Denver won by 9 i think.
Then later that season, the Chargers were red hot. I think they won 8 games in a row or something like that and went to Dallas and Dallas was struggling. Not sure their record but they were 2 or 3 games worst than the Chargers in the win column. The easy play looked to be the Chargers +3 since they were much superior than the cowboys and were on a huge winning streak. It looked very easy to take them. But other fade the public players took the Cowboys -3 (-125) juice i recalled. What happened? Chargers won the game in the late 3rd or early 4th quarter. I think they won by at least 10 in that game.
This game is a really tough call. It looks like a trap, but i do know in the NFL, more sucker bets lose than win though NOT BY MUCH. Otherwise everyone can win money just by fading the sucker bet. However, this game really looks like a trap to get you to bite on the Giants as oppose to the Bears. Anyone else feel the same?Comment -

Bears beat the best team of the NFC East on the road. Now they are getting 4 points vs the worst team in NFC East.
I'm sure Urlacher only focuses on what's on the field, and it's not like the Giants run formations with two halfbacks in them. The Giants have only one RB so Urlacher will focus on him.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

#129Doesn't really seem that you do...Originally posted by big0marNo, its the complete opposite than Texans. Texans were an overrated team that, if you actually watched their games, can't defend the pass to save their life. Great matchup for the Cowboys. You are correct though, you don't really care how they defend the Bears. Because they can't. The ******* Panthers were able to move the ball on the Giants sorry secondary. No need to wish me GL either, I actually understand how the game works.

#130d2bets, big0mar, pavyracer, slacker00....have some crow...Originally posted by Don GiovanniWith four D-backs, three LBs, and four D-lineman. Here's what I see the Giants doing: Michael Boley will be covering Matt Forte straight up in the passing game (biggest threat to the Giants D), Giants blitzing more to create more pressure on Cutler, not punting the ball to Devin Hester, and controlling the ball on offense with steady play action pass. If the Giants limit mistakes, force Cutler into bad decisions and stop committing dumb penalties, they'll win the game and probably cover too. -GiovanniComment -
