The scariest part for me is that the Giants defense made Vince Young look very good a week after the Steelers shut him out completely. Now Cutler is not going to be rattled and is more of a passing threat than Young. I just can't see how the Giants defense will keep the Bears from scoring in the 20's and how can Giants offense score in the 20's when they scored in the 10's in their last 2 games.
I don't think the Bears/Giants Game is a Trap

#75A lot of people think this line is a trap… I don’t know.
Regardless, consider the following…
This game is going to come down to which QB has a better game and which offense is more balanced. I’ll take Eli and the Giants at home over Cutler and the Bears on the road. The Giants have a coaching and motivation edge. On top of that the Giants will be more rested / better prepared (longer week / no travel) and have home field advantage.
The Bears may stubbornly overuse their inept rushing attack, with mediocre success against the Giants. But let’s face it, Cutler will have many opportunities to throw picks, fumble and find ways to come up short in the red zone.
The Giants on the other hand, just have to have average success running the ball, avoid making the silly mistakes that have been costing them, and let Eli work on a defense that has allowed over 800 passing yards in 3 games.Comment -

#76don't think its a trap either....bears are not very good and cutler isn't going to keep getting lucky... he should have 9 picks right now... bears are going to win by ten. they are trying to make it look like a trap and the fact that they beat the packers, is going to make the amateurs bet on chicage... go giants in this gameComment -

#78i dont think this line is a trap,,,the number is just right,,,,giant-4 this is a tough call no play for meOriginally posted by dynamite140Normally i see this is a trap game with Giants laying 4 points at home and playing horrible against the Bears. Most people would quickly jump on the Bears quicking getting 4 points whereas other more experienced players will take the Giants -4. If i had to choose, i normally take the Giants here. However, there are a few things that are a bit concerning. The line has went from -3 to -4 and most people would take the Bears because they are undefeated.
But there were 2 situations last year that were very similar. It was the Denver Broncos who were I think... 4-0 playing against the Chargers who were 2-2 and Chargers laying 3 points with -125 juice. I think many people said Denver was a fraud and that Chargers would beat them easily even though Broncos were undefeated. However, most normal joes would take broncos with their undefeated record and getting points. I mean it looked too easy to take Denver because of their record and chargers were not doing so well and had to lay points. What happened? Denver won by 9 i think.
Then later that season, the Chargers were red hot. I think they won 8 games in a row or something like that and went to Dallas and Dallas was struggling. Not sure their record but they were 2 or 3 games worst than the Chargers in the win column. The easy play looked to be the Chargers +3 since they were much superior than the cowboys and were on a huge winning streak. It looked very easy to take them. But other fade the public players took the Cowboys -3 (-125) juice i recalled. What happened? Chargers won the game in the late 3rd or early 4th quarter. I think they won by at least 10 in that game.
This game is a really tough call. It looks like a trap, but i do know in the NFL, more sucker bets lose than win though NOT BY MUCH. Otherwise everyone can win money just by fading the sucker bet. However, this game really looks like a trap to get you to bite on the Giants as oppose to the Bears. Anyone else feel the same?Comment -

#90Whoever wins the turnover battle wins this game. Cutler looked like he might be reverting back to his gunslinger mentality during the Packers game and got bailed out by some flags and a packers drop. Bears defense is very proactive in producing turnovers and forced one to win the game last week. Eli has been very turnover friendly so far this year but apparently alot of them have been tips. As random as turnovers can be I still think Bears come out +1 or +2.Comment -

#91With four D-backs, three LBs, and four D-lineman.Originally posted by big0marHow do you think the Giants will defend the Bears???
Here's what I see the Giants doing: Michael Boley will be covering Matt Forte straight up in the passing game (biggest threat to the Giants D), Giants blitzing more to create more pressure on Cutler, not punting the ball to Devin Hester, and controlling the ball on offense with steady play action pass. If the Giants limit mistakes, force Cutler into bad decisions and stop committing dumb penalties, they'll win the game and probably cover too. -GiovanniComment -

#103ok good post and valid points, however to me this is not nearly as similar to those last year games as you make it sound...1st off i played sd in that dal game even though as you said several os my relatively "sharp" friends tried to get me off them. cant recall what i did in the den/sd game but think i passed (dont feel like looking back). point is chi is coming off a huge mon night and im sure feeling very good about themselves, i like this team but the way i saw there d play i believe s smith can own the short passing game and if nicks gets that soft cushion in the cover 2 i believe he is more capable of making bigger yac plays than the gb wrs were. granted this depends if Coughlin (who i hate) can get his freakin line to block someone(and not just anyone), comes down to when Tikki hates on nyg they respond and Manning has a big game picking apart the cover 2, and G-Men get to flex there d-line like they tried to against indy (Payton was to smart)Cutler/Martz on the other hand are TALENTED BUT NOT Payton smart, dunk Jay!!!!!!!!!Comment -

#104Three weeks ago, a lot of people were picking the Bears to finish last in the NFC North and some were calling them the worst team in the NFC.
Three weeks later, they are suddenly world beaters just because they are 3-0?
Not to mention this is a terrible scheduling spot for them, playing on a short week after an emotional division upset win over their biggest rivals.
Just sayin'

Whether Chicago is a real contender or not though, one thing is for certain. The Giants are a team in total disarray. They did that whole thing last week where the on-field leadership called guys out, players only meeting, all that crap, and then they got blown out. Add a couple injuries into the mix and it's not pretty. Watch for a couple more ugly losses from the G-men and a new team for Tom Coughlin.Walter forgot... when you're desperate's when you got no choice.Comment
