I know the Bengals with J.T O'Sullivan and Jordan Palmer are in a world of hurt if Carson Palmer goes down

Also Ravens with Marc Bulger and Troy Smith isnt too bad at all behind Joe Flacco

I think these are the best:

        Dolphins Pennington
        Eagles Vick

            Best 1,2,3 IMO
Ditto for Miami. I forgot about Tyler Thigpen, I'm a huge fan. Penny is #1 quality if not so brittle. Pat White, I don't know much about him except that he's on the team for wildcat purposes. Miami does have some impressive depth at the QB position. Even Henne showed some flashes last season and might become a very solid #1 with such a powerful running game and quality offensive line taking the pressure off him, not to mention bringing in Brandon Marshall. Gotta be optimistic looking forward for Miami fans, if not for playing in such a brutal division. But great preseason value for this team!

Wrong buddy. We traded Doug Dutch for Beck about a week ago and let Colt go the same day. I believe he signed with Oakland joining Campbell and Rock Cartwright.

ok i need to make sure i llok at rosters and not depth charts they are not updated, for wagering though I would not be high on Beck if he just got with the team vs. Brennan who was there a couple years.

Not too sure being with the team for two years matters too much when a brand new HC and OC comes in, even if it may be a somewhat similar offense. Also lets not forget that Colt was a joke in the preseason last year.

Redskins Oline was a joke though, he was good in the preseason 2 years ago when I lived in the DC area, I guess did not remember he was that bad last year until you said it.

The Packers have Matt Flynn, he struggled to win the starting job at LSU his senior season. If Rodgers goes down watch out.

Who would you want on your team to win the game if your #1 goes down that is currently listed as a #2 quarterback:

                                      Good choices:
Kerry Collins(Titans)- Remember that solid year he had two years ago. Still serviceable. VY screws up, we might see him.

Shaun Hill(Lions)- Stafford may go down with an injury(which won't shock anyone) and Hill might get in. Remember, he got some wins in a not-so-pass-friendly offense. He had no real weapons, either. Vernon Davis was a bit of jackass, for a while, and that was their best outlet in Frisco.

Chad Pennington(dolphins)- We've seen him win, and he's not too old. He would be a serviceable choice.

Billy Volek(Chargers)- We've seen this guy win a playoff game. He's been a dependable backup to Rivers, and you won't see a Charger fan try to run him out of town.

                                      Bad choices:
Dog killer(Eagles)- Hasn't been the same since prison. A lefty with an even worse arm. A gadget guy at best.

Jon Kitna(Cowboys)- He's done. His timing stinks. I do miss when he had a little bit of timing, but he's gotta go. He's a nice guy, but he should retire. Cowboys got other guys that can be the #2 qb.

Tavaris Jackson (Vikings)- Why do you think Minnesota is freaking out over Brett Favre!!! Also, have you seen him play-2 years ago, every play had 8-9 in the box on the defensive side of the ball to stop Adrian Peterson (because Tavaris was that bad). Dude couldn't hit receivers in man to man coverage when half the defensive backs were stacked in the box.

Some of you guys said some good ones.
However, those of you that said Dog Killer was a good backup
It's like you guys haven't watched football in a couple of years. He really is that bad.
Then again, somebody said Bulger. Dude has been horrible for years, and he looked pretty bad, tonight, in preseason.

I liked the Redmond pick. We've seen him pick the team up, before.

But the Dog Killer, Tavaris and Bulger picks are flat out dumb. I don't even think the Raiders would take those guys, they're so bad.

What's impressed me about Tebow is that he's already surpassed Brady Quinn on the depth chart.

But, Tebow is at least two years away from anything remotely possible.
Tebow might be a good teammate, but I really believe he will be the biggest bust in this years' draft.
Dude is not a good thrower, a lefty as well.
Dude might go John Elway and try to run the ball in traffic w/o sliding and get wasted by 4.5 40 yard dash 260lbs linebacker.

That would not even make a good college line up.

Steelers 3 beats that group so does Vikings.

Miami and Minnesota with the best back ups it appears.

                                                    jcljack,

I think the point is depth, not top-tier talent. It's more about who'll be calling the plays in the 2nd half.

I agree that Henne won't be spectacular running the offense against the #1 defense. Pennington won't do much either if he's playing against a mixture of #1's and #2's on defense, but he's capable of a professionally managed TD drive, but being a veteran he maybe won't see much time anyway. The big key is what Thigpen and Pat White will do against the practice squad guys in the second half. Both Thigpen and White are capable NFL calibre QBs that ought to be able to use surgical precision against second rate opposition.

Pitts and Minny have great QB rosters as well, why not just agree that all 3 of these teams are good teams to bank on in preseason play?

If you're talking 2nd and 3rd stringers strictly for preseason purposes, I like Seattle, Cleveland, Denver, and oakland, maybe Miami.

Hands down, Sam Bradford is the best backup in the NFL right now.
