McNaab made Phila a great offensive team with no wide receivers in 10 years not that is a stud QB

Let's take a realistic look at this. Washington won 4 games last season. Their offense was pathetic, being held to 17 or less points in 11 of teir 16 games last season. So the addition of McNabb has to help the offense, unless he gets hurt, which is certainly a possibility. Now the Washington defense gave up 23 or more points 7 times last season. Not bad, but certainly not good. What is critical is that Washington did not win a game against their NFC East rivals last year. They have lost 3 staright to Dallas, and have lost 7 out of 8 to the Giants in the past 4 years. So the Redskins may improve, but even if they double their win total of last year (which they will not), they still finish 8-8, and do not make the playoffs. So you Redskin fans can either come back to reality, or just give me your money, because I am going to take it this year if you really think that this team is a playoff contender. McNabb is washed up, but may have a good season this year because he has nothing to play for. The Redskins are a far cry from a playoff team, and he will not make the difference.
As far as Philly goes, the loss of McNabb could go either way. It all depends on how good Kolb really is. After the Eagles debacle X 2 against Dallas at the end of last season, everyone know that McNabb had to go. He completely lost the clubhouse. Oddly enough, with the exception of two games, Philly and Washington play the EXACT same schedule this season. They both get Green Bay, Minnesota, Houston and Indy at home, and Chicago, Detroit, Jacksonville and Tennessee away. The schedule may help or hurt the Eagles. If they get the easier teams on the road to kick of the season, like Detroit and Jacksonville, and Houston at home, Kolb can ease into his role. If they have to start with division games, or games against Green Bay, Minny, or Indy, he is thrown immediately into the fire. Philly is a 50/50 shot to make the playoffs.

Well now the eagles dont have to worry about being called "choke-artist" in the playoffs, since they wont be there. Losing mcnabb just knocked off 3 or 4 wins and now you have a rookie- kolb who probably will not be a franchise QB.

Washington still finishes last in the Division. They are that bad, with or without McNabb. Shanny brings nothing to Washington. Just look at his record over the past 9 years, from 1999 to 2008. 4 playoff appearances. 1-4 in those appearances. No playoff appearances since 2005. 24-24 in his last 3 years at Denver, and that was in a division that included Kansas City (15-34) and Oakland (11-37). Now he is going to a division with Dallas (34-17), New York (36-18) and Philadelphia (30-21-1) in there last 3 seasons. If the best he could do was .500 against the AFC Worst, er West, how is he going to compete with the NFC East?

Eagles are still going to have the best CB duo in the league (by far). Trading McNabb was one of the biggest mistakes in Eagles history. The guy still has a rocket of an arm, is no where near past his prime (had one of the best seasons of his career last year) and for once in his career (besides when he had T.O), he has a explosive group of WRS on his side. And we all know the Eagles went to the SB when they had T.O.
How is McNabb suppose to throw TDs in that Dallas playoff loss when Andy Reid can't call plays for shit? They didn't even run the ball! Dallas knew exactly what the Eagles were going to call on every down.
No Run= no threat of play action, unbalanced attack, difficult to achieve consistent first downs, and an overall lack of chemistry. Everyone knows good running teams and defense gives you a chance to win a championship every year. Eagles will still have a top 5 defense next year, but it's going to be tough to make the playoffs in that divison.

You are wrong on every point.
The Jets already had the best CB duo in the league and just added Cromartie.
When you say running and defense = championship, do you mean like the New Orleans Saints or the Indianapolis Colts? And God knows that Bellicek character in NE won't get anywhere throwing all the time.
McNabb already had a rift with DeSean Jackson and couldn't handle T.O. Even when he did have him, down 3 points in the Superbowl he choked. When they bring in stars, his ego gets in the way, when he has role players and a good TE/RB to throw to, he whines about lack of star wideouts.
The Eagles were down early and forced to go to the air. Watching the last two games, McNabb was throwing very poorly. He looked exhausted, like he'd been up all night. When divisional opposing players are the ones lobbying for you to stay while your bench is virtually silent, I think that says a lot.
Also I think you grossly underestimate Kevin Kolb. But we shall see about that.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I forgot to mention that the Eagles draft really really well and have a boatload of picks for this mini-rebuild. The Birds evaluate talent very well, going against the grain on some mobile QB out of Syracuse, a change-of-pace back from Villanova, and a wideout from Southern Cal who's too short to play in the NFL. When you take a team that's already a contender and add this many picks in this strong of a draft, the Eagles are going to be the best team in the NFC over the next five years or so, and should begin dominating the East immediately.

Assuming they give him some protection via Okung / Bulaga / Campbell at #4, this might be the most improved team in the league.

Philly actually made a good trade to get those picks. Washinton will be running the ball alot just like in Denver but hopefully now this will open up the play action more and McNabb can be used more effeectively. McNabb is prone to some games where you say to yourself, "Whats going on in his head sometimes?"

I agree with Pauly, the Redskins are good for at least 8-8 with McNabb/Shanny.
Granted, the Cowboys/Giants/Eagles have to be the toughest set of division opponents a team will face next year. Dallas probably wins the division, but Philly or the Giants will falter into last place with some kind of hiccup. It'll probably be Philly in the basement as the team rebuilds. Philly's problems went far beyond the QB position last season.

I'll take McNabb in 2010. McNabb is proven, Cutler still remains to be seen.
But if you're talking long term, Cutler will definitely outperform McNabb over the long run going forward. McNabb is in the twilight of his career, maybe only having 2 or 3 good seasons left. Cutler is very young and might still emerge as one of the league's elite QBs. Unfortunately for Cutler, he's in windy & cold Chicago with a CB for a #1 WR and Chicago's history of being a meat grinder for QBs.

I think this improves the Redskins next season quite a bit of getting McNabb. I don't think it will win the division though. Dallas and the Giants are still better than the Redskins are unless the Redskins do something that would really help their team out still. I do think they will win now probably about 7 or 8 games this next season but you never know about the injuries that they could have.

I think it's hilarious that people think one guy is going to make this team that much better than what they thought of them a week ago before this trade. Shanahan is what makes them better, but he's still got a turd that he has to polish here. Their O-line is still the same horrible, aging group that they had last season. People have slammed Campbell for not being a good QB and I'm not saying the guy is great, but when his line protected him he had some solid games. People in Washington will find out what Philly fans already know, McNabb isn't the guy he once was and he tries to much to be a pocket QB when he could still do more with his legs I think.

I tried to post this earlier, but it looks like I messed something up. Excuse me if this is a double post.
You're the one who told BigDaddy that you'd bet him his life. I work out bets with odds that are not 1 to 1 all the time with my friends. It's really not that hard.
Assuming that the Cowboys are going to be good next year, if it was random which team would come in last out of the other three, the true odds would be 2 to 1. Since you are 100% sure this team will not be the Redskins, I'd think you'd jump at 1.5 to 1.
Since you're bashing the Eagles pretty hard, if you want to do even odds that bad, we could add a provision. How about if the Eagles win the NFC East, but Washington beats out New York or Dallas, it's a push. Or maybe if Philly sweeps Washington.

Its so comical how people outside Philly think McNAbb is this star QB. As stated before when he was a dual threat running and passing he was good. He could make things happen, the Def Ends would have to worry about containment not just rushing the QB and the Def would have to commit a player to spy McNAbb. As a pocket QB McNAbb is average. Not only does he not run if he feels pressure he just throws the ball away, that will play well with Washingtons OL. Kolb was drafted high and is ready. McNabb is negotiating a extension now and will be looking for a minimum of 15 mil a year for 4- 5 years. He is not woth that. Wash won 4 games last year has no OL, washed up Running Backs, and nothing special at WR. and people are talking about winning the Division and the Eagles who won 11 games last year finishing last????? wake up

Wow. You are incredibly simple minded. If you are so certain of something that you'd "bet your life" then you'd think you'd be willing to lay half decent odds.
Since you seem to have the IQ of a troglodyte, here's a proposition that maybe you could understand:
The Eagles are much better than the Redskins.
I will bet you 1,000 SBR points the Eagles finish higher than the 'Skins.
Or 500 pts on each Skins/Philly game.
Or any of the other props I laid out.
