#215Okay Panekkk, I have an assignment for you. Please shoot me a reminder to take the Eskimos on 7/9/09. if the total is anything less than 50, then the play will be a three unit play. Please put this on your calendar and keep me abreast of this play. I am a firm believer in fading ANY team in ANY sport that beats the previous years' champ.
I want you to put down Eskimos as a play on 7/9/09 against Montreal if the line is 50 or less opening it wil be a 3 uniter, if not just 2
Now here's the second thing I want you to put down as a play
I want to put down Winnipeg as a play on 7/10/09 against the StampedersComment -

#220Thanks again CK!
Thanks to your CFL picks I woke up to another winner.
I only lost the Conn game in the WNBA. Luckily I took the CFL picks too, but as a smaller wager. I ended up on the positive side for the night.
Also thanks to Panekkkk and kmarinoufm for their help and time too!
By the way I just booked BC - SAS over 48.5. It's still available at that number here.Comment -

EDM just lost their star runningback Lumsden in the first game. This guy is supposed to be a superstar but hasn't made a season without injury and he's out for who knows how long the first game of the year ... in the first quarter even. Something to keep in mind!Comment -

#227Some additional stats for tonight's games:
SASK was 7-2 SU at home in 2008 and 9-3 SU at home in their last 12.
SASK's last 3 home openers totals: 47, 57, 56 (the latter was vs. B.C.)
SASK winless and unimpressive in preseason
However, SASK literally has the craziest fan base of any CFL team. There is absolutely no other professional team in any other sport in the province (let alone the city of Regina). The local folk live and breathe Roughriders football. Their fan base would actually rival some other major sports organizations.
With that said, both teams have suffered major losses on offense, both to injury and to other teams/NFL. And both teams have questions on defense. General consensus seems that it may take some time for SASK to work out their woes. But the same applies for the Lions.
JustBet has a good preview and is capping this game at the under and has a good writeup to back that, but the SASK home factor can always turn the tide:
The line seems about right as a pick'em as it could easily go either way. B.C. would probably be favoured if the game was played in a neutral field. Final note: SASK is out for blood after losing the West Semi-Finals to B.C. last year.
Line opened at 51.5 and has now dropped to 48.5. Not sure I like the over but it's already been booked. These teams are probably the two most revamped/injured in the league so that could either open things up or completely shut 'em down.Comment -

#228Well I am all set for tonight already as i made my waer a long time ago. I thinkthat this is a good spot for a game to go over. These are two teams that have a ton of players who need to prove that they can play in the league. That spells effort. Let's get the money making a play for effort! BC passes the ball well from what I see! The over/under line went up to 50 overnight going against all of the money placed on the under wagers. So the line moved in our direction!
Let's go over!Comment -

whereas i had a clear lean for wpg +8 to cover the side, the bc sask game seems to be a side coin toss ;; over seems very likely;;
bc side should prevail mostly due to same starting qbs;; bc tho lost their most dominant defensive player which helps the over ;;c wake;; to miami in nfl;;
right now my only play will be parlay bc ats +over glComment -

HOME TEAM IN CAPS
B.C. Lions –1.05 over SASKATCHEWAN BetCris
This is my best game of the week, as the Lions are in a not-so-familiar role. Over the last several years, B.C. has been expected to be a serious threat to win it all but this season the media, fans or both have written this year off as a rebuilding year and for the first time in a long time, expectations aren’t high. That’s a perfect scenario for this team to rise to the occasion and it says here that’s precisely what they’ll do. Make no mistake, they lost some very key personnel on defense but have replaced them with some very capable players. Without naming names, the Lions are younger and quicker and they’ll put a ton of pressure on opposing QB’s (watch out for Aaron Hunt). Offensively for the Lions, it’ll be Buck Pierce leading the way in his fifth season. He had his best year last season, completing 64% of his passes for over 3000 yards. In other words, there is no concern at the all-important position, especially with Jarious Jackson backing him up. Darian Durant had about 2000 less yards in the air than Pierce and he’ll be the Riders QB once again. He threw for just seven TD’s against six picks and frankly, has shown very little. He was riding the pine for two years before being instilled as the starter last year. Saskatchewan has relied upon a great defense the past couple of years and that has carried them a long way. However, this year they’ve lost at least three top defenders, difference makers if you will, and there are no significant replacements. Yeah, the Riders are tough at home but they’ll be no complacency for the Lions this year, as they’re out to make a giant statement this season. The Lions are far superior on offense, defense, coaching and QB and they want this one badly. Play: B.C. Lions –1.05 (Risking 3.15 units to win 3).Comment -

#240Thanks for the winners CK both here and the WNBA. However, I am a bit confused on when to place the bets on these games. After post #151, I bet Winninpeg +8.5 and the under 51.5. Then yesterday before game time, you posted that you had waited to place your bets and got Winnipeg at 9.5 and the under at 52.5. You even went back and edited post #151 to reflect the changes, and you had Panekk change the bet. I just chalked it up to the fact that I jumped the gun.
So, when you said to play the over 48.5 in the BC game, I assumed you would wait until close to game time today to make your bet. Then you posted that you played the over a long time ago. Now, the game is at 50. Do you see why I am confused? Should I play them when you post or should I wait?
Thanks in advance for clearing up my confusion.Comment -

Unless I say that I have actually played it (such as is the case with the over for tonight's game), then I rarely will place my bet until later on in the day. BC is a play and since I like their chances to pick up the win I have made that play available. I myself am not going to take them until later on in the day maybe 3:00pm pst. But make no bones about it it is the play. Some may get it now at a PK, some may get it later on at -1 or 1.5, but the call is made, now get you some Lions.
